Sorry, but I didn't see anything in the Foreshadowing sneak peak that changed my mind about the scope of this season. I still think that they aren't doing much more than wrapping up ASOS, which is still more than enough material to make this the best season yet. Don't care what D&D say, this is going at least 9 seasons and probably 10.

Only possible if they cover all of AFFC and ADWD in season 5, which puts them behind the eight ball on writing the script for season 6 ASSUMING that Sir Too Fat finishes TWOW next year. And then for ADOS...what?
Most likely that they put AFFC and ADWD together but still cover them over two seasons, make TWOW two seasons, especially if it is a longer ASOS on steroids as we expect it to be, and pray that GRRM can finish ADOS by 2018 for a final season in 2019 or two seasons over 2019 and 2020. If I had to lay money on it, I would say 9 seasons ending in 2019.

I think people are making way too much of the shows pacing.
Season 3 covered the end of clash and ended at less than the halfway point of storm.
Season 4 could very easily be just covering the end of storms with a pinch of feast, which is just to hit on all the major pov's.
They will obviously be taking a boiled leather approach to feast and dance.
I seriously doubt they will exclude the iron islands arc and subsequent kingsmoot. I could very easily see them slow playing the combined feast and dance material into 3 seasons, making it so that any winds material wont ve included until season 8.
Any speculation on how many seasons there will be is just that. As long people are still watching hbo will keep making them.
These books and the show are so well loved that people get very passionate about them, but passionate people are rarely logical about their passions.
I fully believe that AGoT the show will go for 10 seasons, and that the only book in danger of getting passed by the show is ADoS.

I agree with almost everything you're saying. If I'm D&D I'm not leaving out any story lines. They may cut Quentyn's story out but I don't think they should. His story is important and non readers need to be aware of it.
The only way the show passes the books is if D&D want it to. There's so much material that it can go either way. That's assuming GRRM doesn't take a extraordinary amount with the next 2 books

Yeah, when I read ADWD I thought Jon needed a drink and some fun with Val
Who do you want cast as Val? Personally I vote for Yvonne Strahovski as Val. She can walk that looking like a princess but being a badass line.

Curious who they'll cast as Doran and Arianne.
Since I don't think Pinto will be available for the role of arianne, my suggestion is Emmanuelle Chriqui. For Doran, I say Alfred Molina, hands down.

If I were in charge of this show Dany's arc would only get like 5 episodes/season for seasons 4 & 5. The other storylines are THAT much better.
Definitely
What do you think of my casting choices?

Val has to be the most beautiful woman cast yet on the show right? I picture her as a tall, strong blonde that's hot as fuggg.
The temptation has to be real for it to be legit for Jon Snow and the proposal that Stannis gives him.

Oh please, please, please, let that happen! Both would be outstanding and I miss me some Sloan!
I actually pictured Doran as a bit shorter and heavier than Alfred Molina, but there really isn't an actor that I can think of who looks exactly like the one in my mind's eye. In fact, I like Molina better than the one I imagined, so I think I'll picture Doran that way whether they cast him or not.

Emmanuelle Chriqui is too old to be Arianne IMO. Arianne is only about 5-6 years older than Jon. They should cast someone who is in their late 20s/not older than 30. Chriqui is almost 40.
As for the books passing up the show, I think the show will go 8 seasons. 10 is too many plus you don't want Isaac or Maisie to be in their mid 20s when the series ends or Kit and Emilia to be in their mid 30s.
I think they'll be able to start TWoW material in season 6 and that seasons 6-8 should cover TWoW and ADoS. Maybe a 9th season but definitely not 10.
I think David & Dan have every right to pass up George if they feel like they've covered what they could. Y'all have to remember that season 5 could potentially affect the Hodor viewership if they follow Feast & Dance verbatim. So, they're going to need to streamline and change up and cut some of the storylines. Or at least that's what I'd do.

Ages don't really cause issue with me. Almost any actor 20-40 can be made to look older/younger with makeup. Emmanuelle might be almost 40, but she certainly doesn't look it. The show hasn't made a big deal out of defining how old the characters are in realtion to each other. Only problems I see them facing are Rickon (Likely just be recast), Bran (stuck with this one), and Arya (same as Bran).
As far as the show passing up the books, I wouldn't watch them. Too much time invested in the books to let the show spoil anything for me. I realize the problem that they are facing with Sir Too Fat To Write, but I'm first and foremost a bookreader.

I like that choice. I liked her a lot in Dexter, and she is very pleasing on the eyes.

Not jealous of her but HBO will probably pick relatively unknown actresses for Val and Arianne. They'll probably cast actresses between ages 25-30 for those two roles.

And they'll probably cast someone who is around the other actresses ages, around 25-30. Both of the suggestions for Arianne and Val are too old. It wouldn't be believable if Oberyn's niece is only 2 years younger than the actor.

So you do think that Val will be in S6?
Posted on 2/11/14 at 1:58 pm to Analyze That
I think Val will be in S5. I don't think they'll cut her character; she's shaping up to be important.

I'm surprised we haven't heard of any new casting announcements yet. I wonder if they're keeping her under wraps?
