I don't get the appeal of 'Dorkstar' (as the ASOIAF forum refers to him). No idea who they would cast as him. Did Arianne frick him? I don't remember if she did or not.

If I had to guess they have to show the Myrcella plot somehow; she hasn't been seen or mentioned since Season 2 when Tyrion shipped her to Dorne.

It's the ... And I am of the Night line that sends me rolling.

Arianne didn't frick him, but she was definitely turned on by his physical appearance.

I'm somewhat sure that Oberyn will mention that Myrcella is getting along quite well in Dorne. So I guess he'll be cast.

I like the theory that Darkstar is Oberyn's bastard with a Dayne woman. Would be a little too Targ-like for Arianne to frick him then.

I have no idea what future role Darkstar will play going forward in the next 2 books. What else could Doran use him for?

I was hoping Darkstar would be a Red Viper/Arthur Dayne hybrid and be involved in some good fight scenes.

Unfortunately hes only been a bitch, failing to kill a 7 year old and hiding the entire time afterwards iirc.

Last we see of him was when he tried to kill Myrcella right?

Yep.

Wasn't he acting on Doran's orders though?? Looks like I need to do a reread.

Maybe, I can't remember. If he was I think it was something the reader had to infer rather than Doran or someone else out right saying it though.

I need to reread and I want to do books 4 and 5 combined

Yeah, I'm really fuzzy on the details of everything that went down with Myrcella's crowning. I'm in the middle of a combined reread of AFFC and ADOD so I'll see it when I get to it (I just got passed Brienne meeting Nimble Dick)

Yeah, the whole Nimble Dick storyline was fricking dumb. I completely halfassed reading Brienne's chapters until the Quiet Isle.

The whole story line seemed like a massive and incredibly boring waste of time that led nowhere and accomplished nothing.

All it really accomplished was to give GRRM a reason to side track into Dunk and Egg for a time..

Eh.. I think they should try their best to stay behind the books within reason. It is GRRM's creation afterall.

And there really is plenty of material to stay behind the books assuming we get tWoW within 2 yrs and aSoS within 5 yrs

Much like all of Dany's story in Mereen. Hopefully now that the story has caught up with Mereen he can cut out all the stupid story bloat in the next book.

Balon Swann with Obara Sand is currently hunting Darkstar to being him to justice.

I think him being called the most dangerous man in Dorne may refer to a secret or some knowledge he holds about something important

Not really.

I know I'm in the minority but I love Briannes chapters. Everybody should reread them. Lots going on there

I hate Dany but I've come to realize that it is necessary for her to stay in Mereen and learn how to become the queen of the seven kingdoms.

It would be too far fetched for a 13/14 yr old girl to get some dragons and soldiers and cross the Narrow Sea and wipe out all these badass knights/armies and families.

If you've read TP&TQ you should know that dragons alone won't win you the Iron Throne

I love those chapters; she's is probably my favorite character.

I think the big payoff for Brienne will come in her, and Jaime's, tragic end. Her story arc really reminds me of the knights in the Canterbury Tales. Very noble and honorable knights on a quest that is completely unselfish and being attempted simply because there is good to be done. And that's Brienne's story, really.

TL;DR - she gonna die.

One thing GRRM could use Darkstar for is to bring the story over to Starfall. I'd love that to involve Dawn and see someone appointed as the Sword of the Morning.

I like that theory as well, but how could he be a bastard? His name is Gerold Dayne. So it seems as though he is a legitimate lord of High Hermitage.

Dany becoming the end-game Queen of Westeros is too cliche and I would be disappointed. And I don't see Martin doing that, thankfully. Or she may die in ADoS. Either that or she may go back to Essos to rule or to live near the place with the Red Door in Braavos. GRRM has said the series ending is going to be bittersweet, and I think Dany realizing she shouldn't rule over Westeros, a country she's never been to, may be part of it. Or perhaps her dying against the Others on the Trident like in the dream she had. I definitely think at least 1 of the 3 dragons is going to die before the series ends.

ETA: Ugh and please no Jon Dany nasty Targ marriage .

I don't think she will end up the Queen. I think she will die too like in her dream. I'm just saying a 13 yr old girl gathering an army and marching on to Westeros to take everybody out with 3 baby dragons that she doesn't know how to even ride would be shitty writing.

Even though I don't like Dany I still think her story has had a lot going on in it.

The Khalasar, assassination attempt, dragons hatching, brother being killed by her husband, miscarriage, Qarth, freeing the Unsullied etc etc etc

This has to happen at some point in the story. The Dragon has three heads, after all. And the House of the Undying does not lie.

I think that it ends with some type of Targ triumvirate involving Dany, Aegon, and Jon.
