Looks like we'll see some of Cersei's craziness this season. Can't wait.

do you think they'll have Lena Headey gain some weight to match Cersei?

I really think when Joffrey dies, even the most bitter enemies in this world will hug it out in joy.
Posted on 2/9/14 at 10:47 pm to OMLandshark
I hate Joffrey so much; can't wait to see him choke on pigeon pie.

Not sure if they'll make Lena gain weight but I they'll definitely show Cersei becoming an alcoholic and descend further into batshit crazy territory. And who will the show replace the Kettleblacks with? Ser Meryn?? They already showed Cersei and Lancel in Season 2. I imagine they'll cast Taena for next season too (and I'm convinced she was a spy for either the Tyrells or Martells).
And I hope Lancel reappears in season 5, that dialogue with him and Jaime in AFFC is great. Hodors probably forgot who Lancel was. I'm willing to admit I forgot who the hell the Mountain was when I started reading the books since the show hasn't done a good job with building him up.

I must make an amendment. I failed to add Dolorous Edd to the top list of favorite characters. However, I am sure he was expecting it so no harm, no foul.

What do you think is going to happen in S5 with all of the storylines/how are they going to follow up to all of the shite that will go down in S4?
"Too many storylines in S5"
"Too many storylines in S5"

So is it just me, or does it seem to y'all also that they (HBO and the actors/creators of the show) are actively trying to make us forget about the books all together?
I'm basing this solely off the fact that they didn't mention the books not once during the 15min preview of Season 5.
It seems to me that they are preparing the viewers and bookreaders alike for the reality of the show surpassing the books.
If this is the case it gives me a huge case of the sads..

Let's see here...
1) Jon is at the Wall and is LC, he'll be becoming a more serious character (as though that it was possible to be more serious than he already was)
2) Stoneheart will be the big reveal at the end of the season. In the meantime stories about tBwB will be told
3) In Dorne I can see things picking up nicely with Oberyn's death toward the end of the season.
4) Cersei will devolve into a paranoid schizophrenic and become super power hungry in King's Landing.
5) Jaime will be in shock, which should further propel his redemption arc in the Riverlands
6) Brienne will likely have spent some time with Jamie in KL in season 4 (where she will get her blue armor). I see her role as tricky, to use Brienne the next books are dipped into and I'm not sure how to divide her storyline.
7) Sansa will be in the Vale taking care of Robert and dealing with LF. I also expect Lysa to die in S4, and after we see her falling to her doom and LF's quip it changes to Stoneheart's first strike.
8) Bran will be continuing toward Bloodraven, although not sure if Cold Hands will be incorporated. Bloodraven and the CotF will not be revealed until late S4 to early S5 with that fight just before the cave.
9) Arya- journey to Bravvos and a bit of FM training.
10) Sam- In S1 Sam mentioned that he always wanted to be a wizard. Gilly calls him a wizard for his reading ability. I think this foreshadows Sam learning some magical ability at the Citadel. Additionally I see his S5 storyline starting in Bravvos.
11) Mel- don't expect to see her early in S4, maybe they show the sacrifice for the winds. By the end of S4 I expect the Battle of the Wall to have taken place and her to be establishing herself as Jon's annoyance.
12) Dany- sit in a pyramid, become a more grey character and upset Hodors, hopefully the Jorah betrayal comes up. By S5 she'll probably be ready to marry Hizdar.
13) Barristan- will council Dany more with Jorah presumably gone.
14) Quentyn- will likely make no appearance at this rate. But if he does it will be with an introduction at the end of S4 and appearing S5 with our first look at Volantis.
15) Kingsmoot- may show Balon watching Asha leave to get Theon and then dying while pensively crossing a bridge with some random servant passing through the shot that may be Jaqen. The Kingsmoot will not happen until later in S4. Or it may be done away with altogether with Euron just sweeping in to claim it and everyone grumbles but allow him.
16) Rickon- will have to leave some trail for Davos to pick up on later.
17) Theon- help with surrender of Moat Cailin. And at Winterfell with the procession of lords enroute.
18) Faegon & company- definite S5 appearance. Who would you want cast for that role? To me it's a definite unknown coming in.
I think that covers most of what is to happen in S4/S5. My guess is that it will be slow gong for S5 with Tyrion in Essos, Faegon & Company, Dany marrying Hizdar, Jorah turning up in brothel, Cersei's melt, Jamie running around the Riverlands, The Ironborn united under Euron, Loras being at d-stone, Myrcella in Dorne and DARKSTAR, Jon dealing with Janos/Stannis nod (
) and acclimating the Wildlings to south of the wall with Val (please don't write her off), Sam gone to Bravvos, Arya in bravvos, introduction of Manderly.
shite there is a lot going on. Not at all sure how they'll deal with that. Some major GRRM consulting will be necessary.

Yeah, when I read ADWD I thought Jon needed a drink and some fun with Val
quote:
2) Stoneheart will be the big reveal at the end of the season. In the meantime stories about tBwB will be told
Yep
quote:
3) In Dorne I can see things picking up nicely with Oberyn's death toward the end of the season.
Curious who they'll cast as Doran and Arianne.
quote:
4) Cersei will devolve into a paranoid schizophrenic and become super power hungry in King's Landing.
Can't fricking wait. There's a clip of her already sounding crazy during the Ice and Fire special when she's talking to Jaime about Tyrion.
quote:
5) Jaime will be in shock, which should further propel his redemption arc in the Riverlands
Jaime's AFFC chapters were excellent. Just hope they include the Lancel part too because that was hilarious to read about their confrontation and Lancel becoming pious.
quote:
6) Brienne will likely have spent some time with Jamie in KL in season 4 (where she will get her blue armor). I see her role as tricky, to use Brienne the next books are dipped into and I'm not sure how to divide her storyline.
Most of Brienne's AFFC story sucked except for the Quiet Isle and Stoneheart chapters. Hope they show Sandor as the Gravedigger and I'm guessing they'll bring Gendry back in S5 and show him with the Brotherhood for those Brienne Stoneheart scenes.
quote:
7) Sansa will be in the Vale taking care of Robert and dealing with LF. I also expect Lysa to die in S4, and after we see her falling to her doom and LF's quip it changes to Stoneheart's first strike.
I'm really looking forward to and anticipating Sansa's story these next 2 seasons and Littlefinger's weakness for Sansa is going to bite him in the arse in TWoW.
quote:
8) Bran will be continuing toward Bloodraven, although not sure if Cold Hands will be incorporated. Bloodraven and the CotF will not be revealed until late S4 to early S5 with that fight just before the cave.
Bloodraven and Leaf were already cast for this season so they'll be revealed sometime around episodes 8-10. Not much else to do with Bran since he only has 3 chapters in ADWD. I think they'll start going into TWoW territory with him in Season 5.
quote:
9) Arya- journey to Bravvos and a bit of FM training.
Season 5 will be Arya's Feast & Dance storyline, which are only about 5 chapters total.
quote:
10) Sam- In S1 Sam mentioned that he always wanted to be a wizard. Gilly calls him a wizard for his reading ability. I think this foreshadows Sam learning some magical ability at the Citadel. Additionally I see his S5 storyline starting in Bravvos.
Basically what I think too.
quote:
11) Mel- don't expect to see her early in S4, maybe they show the sacrifice for the winds. By the end of S4 I expect the Battle of the Wall to have taken place and her to be establishing herself as Jon's annoyance.
They're definitely going to show the tension between Jon and Mel and how Jon keeps to the old gods and doesn't trust her and her R'hollor ways. Then she's going to start the "you need to trust me" in S4 and then show the "All I see is Snow in the flames" in S5.
quote:
12) Dany- sit in a pyramid, become a more grey character and upset Hodors, hopefully the Jorah betrayal comes up. By S5 she'll probably be ready to marry Hizdar.
If I were in charge of this show Dany's arc would only get like 5 episodes/season for seasons 4 & 5. The other storylines are THAT much better.
quote:
13) Barristan- will council Dany more with Jorah presumably gone.
That and he'll probably talk more about how she shouldn't hate Ned and more about Rhaegar and her family
quote:
14) Quentyn- will likely make no appearance at this rate. But if he does it will be with an introduction at the end of S4 and appearing S5 with our first look at Volantis.
If Quentyn isn't totally removed from the show. I think the Quentyn story is the one most likely to get cut, and I have no problems with that. If the whole purpose of that was to get Doran to maneuver for Faegon that can be easily done without Quentyn getting roasted.
quote:
15) Kingsmoot- may show Balon watching Asha leave to get Theon and then dying while pensively crossing a bridge with some random servant passing through the shot that may be Jaqen. The Kingsmoot will not happen until later in S4. Or it may be done away with altogether with Euron just sweeping in to claim it and everyone grumbles but allow him.
Agreed.
quote:
16) Rickon- will have to leave some trail for Davos to pick up on later.
I imagine they'll probably show Rickon twice this season, perhaps him and Osha sailing away to Skagos at one point.
quote:
17) Theon- help with surrender of Moat Cailin. And at Winterfell with the procession of lords enroute.
Agreed. Theon's story is going to be really good the next 2 seasons. Wouldn't S5 end with him and Stannis??
quote:
18) Faegon & company- definite S5 appearance. Who would you want cast for that role? To me it's a definite unknown coming in.
Good question. I definitely agree that Faegon will be a relatively unknown actor. I honestly have no idea who would play him.

Also, has anybody given thought to the fact Tywin was obsessed with continuing the name of the family?
Name was more important than blood? He knew Aerys knocked Joanna up with the twins, yet couldn't do anything about it. His only real son is Tyrion and he could not accept his true heir as a cripple.
