And holy shite...this one has it all. Treachery. Treason. Family kinslaying. Carnage. Violent carnage. MORE violent carnage. Dragons. Dragonriders. Flaming carnage. More carnage. I mean, damn. Reads like a history lesson.
Anyone looking for clues to where ASOIAF might end up will drive themselves nuts looking. This is, like I said, a history...though there is a character or two who share a similar, phonetic name with an ASOIAF character. But hell, keeping track of all the fricking names was driving me nuts so I just enjoyed it for what it was: a history lesson.

I just finished it and wow. It's different reading GRRM from one narrator, but the style is much the same. The Targs were freaking nuts/badass at the same time. It drew me in few pages right back into Ice and Fire mode. I feel like a drug addict that just got a little fix now though. It was over way too soon as it only made me forget how far away Winds is for a day.

That should work...I kinda wonder about Varys, now...the whisperer, and the notable lack of a certain surname in the story, but TONS of others I couldn't keep up with.
