Where do you get your audiobooks from? I have looked at the CDs on Amazon but there are $30+ apiece. I ain't paying that shite.

Download audible. Sign up for the free trial. Get the first book for free. I think it's like $15 a month and they give you a "free" coin for a download each month. Basically cuts the price in half.

You can also sign up for two credits per month. It comes out to $11/credit.

Didn't know that. Not sure why my post gets 2 downvotes for answering a question though

Can't remember where it was, but there are references to how arya and Jon have similar features and then of course how arya looks like lyanna. So naturally Jon looks like lyanna.

I also think that plays into why Jon connects with Arya so well too. It's the one reunion I pray that we get in either media.

Probably an announcement of another one of his side projects.

Of course it's also Exhibit #12568 of why people get annoyed with his approach. Post some vague shite on social media with a ASOIAF tie-in then drop something else.

I'm pretty sure Martin publishes his books based on the ficticious seasons that he created in ASOIAF. The time periods of summers and winters are long, drawn out, and unpredictable.

Yeah, I cancelled that with Audible, one of the dumbest deals ever. They charge you every month and only let you carry a max of like 5 credits. So, unless you download new books regularly, it's a waste of money to do the monthly deal. I also found that many of the books that I wanted actually cost less than what I was paying for the monthly credits.

If that's accurate (doubtful) then I'd be pissed for GRRM releasing it so close to Oathbringer

Per GRRM's Not a Blog:

quote:

Alas, alas, that great city Valyria, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

Per Saint EB's LINK above:

quote:

That passage comes from the Book of Revelation, Chapter 18, Verse 10. In shorter notation, that’s Revelation 18:10. Martin also uses the specific language from the King James version of the bible, and the King James in question was, of course, an English monarch.

The Winds of Winter will be published on 18/10, which is British notation for Oct. 18.

That's kind of interesting. Though, that would make for a lot of Targs running around the Kingdoms.

I always preferred the idea that maybe the twins weren't for Tywin, but Tyrion, the imperfect son whom he hated, was definitely his and the one most like him.

That's definitely the best part of it for me.

ETA: really brings Jaime and Genna's conversation in AFFC to life in a different way >>> "...but Tyrion is Tywin's son, not you."
