I just finished 'Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead' by Sara Gran. Its set in New Orleans right after Katrina which is the main reason I decided to read it.. If anyone is looking for a good private detective book to read its pretty good. Its part of a series, but I don't plan on reading the other books in the series.

Reading is pretty much the one thing I can do without doing other things so yes, that's why I only hear bits and pieces of podcast.

Sometimes I will listen to one and realize I didn't pay attention to most of it.

I only listen to them while driving (30 minutes each way to work) or hiking(about 6 hours a week.

I’ll just read if I can.

Pick up something quick and easy that you know you will enjoy - get yourself back into the groove before going on with tough nonfiction or something else you have to work through. Having some good selection options oh hand has been huge for me.

And when I'm not feeling a challenging series but want to finish it, I will start reading something like a quick, fun thriller or something like that to stay in the zone and just read the more difficult book for like 30 minutes every day / every other day in between. Gotta keep the reading momentum and not get bored / take weeks off when struggling through a challenging one.

It's not that I don't like what I'm reading. I've just been distracted with other things.

Yep. Weekends I usually do 2 or 3 books. During the 5 week days I read a minimum of 2. Don't watch any TV except Arsenal and LSU football. Rest of the time I'm reading or sleeping.

ETA: I also live less than a 2 minute walk from a library.

So far I've read 8 of my 40 goal. Just starting the Brothers Karamazov, so the pace will slow down a bit. I recently read Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu and it was very creative (just a PSA).
