My goal in 2020 was 52 and ended up with 88 (thanks Covid!). This year, I'm going with 60.

Already on book number 8.

I'm on Goodreads as Bigchipper (display name Chip) if anyone wants to add as a friend.

Front page bump. I'm off to a strong start - I need to hit about 3.5 books a month and will get there this month.

Also, I drive for work a ton and had done a lot of podcasts and all but I bet I will be able to get through tons of audiobooks - if I can keep a good slate ready to go on Libby.

I'm cutting back on how many podcast I listen to so audio books will increase. No real goal that depends on how much I drive and hike as that's the only time I listen to them.

Will try to read 20 new books. None picked out yet but enjoy Ivan Doig, Jim Harrison.

Yep, I've been getting a ton more out of non-fiction audiobooks.

I love that this thread is being made each year since I started it. Way to go baws!

My goal is 25 books for 2021

I had a very low 2020 (under 10). My job actually got busier with shut down.

Have you read any others by McCarthy? I've read NCFOM as well as The Road, and I'll be starting Blood Meridian after I finish my current read.

My goal is 22 books. 2 more than 2020.

I just finished my 2nd book.

The first book I started before Jan 1, but here are the two books:

- Anxious People by Fredrik Backman.
- Funeral for a Friend by Brian Freeman.
- Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead by Sara Gran.

I enjoyed both books, but Funeral for a Friend was really good.

There is so much I want to listen to that I find myself just listening to a little bit of an episode and then going awhile without listening to anything bc I can't decide what I want to listen to.

Are you doing anything else while listening to podcasts? My mind wanders during podcasts and audio books that I’d rather just read bc I concentrate better.

I listen while driving or walking or working out mostly. Can usually stay focused - if I try to listen at my desk while working I don't pay attention.

Goal - 30 books

1. The Case Of the Lazy Lover by Erle Stanley Gardner - 2.5 out of 5 - This is the last of all the Perry Mason books I bought at a used book store last year. Went down a rabbit hole after watching the HBO series. Done with that project.

2. Point B by Drew Magary - 3 out of 5 - I like Drew's writing on Deadspin and Defector, and this is the first of his books I've read. It was okay, and easy to read, but I was just ready for it to be over 3/4 of the way through.

Goal: 26 books (a book every two weeks).

Read:
(1) American Gods (anniversary edition) - Neil Gaiman

Currently Reading: war of the Worlds - H.G. Wells

I have an odd rotation for books. I generally go modern (usually something with an upcoming or recent movie or tv series), classic, and then betterment. I burn out fast if I stick to one genre.
