All of this started by the false narrative of the "Gentle Giant", Michael Brown who supposedly uttered the famous words, "Hands up don't shoot" after robbing a local convenience store. Of course after Obama rushed to judgment without any of the facts, it was found out by a grand jury that IT WAS ALL A LIE, and that Michael Brown was charging the cop and simply did not comply with the cop's commands. Furthermore, the false narrative that blacks are being killed at a larger rate than whites is simply not true according to a black professor's findings. In 2016, Harvard Professor Roland Fryer – an African-American academic who focuses on economics – decided to examine whether the nation’s police officers were killing black Americans more so than whites. When he launched the study, he fully expected to find a clear pattern of unjustified violence. Fryer looked at four national databases of crime statistics representing police-civilian confrontations from diverse states like Florida, Texas, and California. After rigorous analysis, it turned out that he, Kaepernik and Black Lives Matter were all wrong. Indeed, Fryer’s study showed that American police officers were not killing black people at a rate any higher than whites. In short, the nation’s protectors showed no racial bias when it came to deadly force. Fryer called it “the most surprising result of my career.”

Victim mentality attention whores by all who protest. The last president in our country was black. Everyone regardless of skin color has the same opportunities. The last president made racism a major issue in our country again. Worst most horrible president ever. Statistics back up the crime argument. It's logical but the demographic in question here cannot seem to separate the emotion of their past history when discussing this issue. If u are able to Look at the facts and you will see why it's happening. Even if it is happening, disrespecting the country's flag crosses the line. Choose another platform. I mean if the country is so oppressive, leave. That's your right as well.

"Everyone regardless of skin color has the same opportunities." Not regardless of class, however. Statistics refute your mobility argument.

Wow! I was going to respond, but I thought of my poisonous snake and rabid dog response below and realized it was a lost cause. It is in your nature. President Obama caused racism to become an issue and was the worse horrible president ever? That would s your warped reality? I'm sure that conclusion had nothing to do with him being black, right? And how is your man Trump doing? How does he stand in your most horrible president ever rating? How about Bush? What metrics are you using? Is it a scientific undertaking or just based on your world view?

Timeline: NFL Week 2) 14 players across the league protest during anthem. - Following Friday) Trump makes his own spectacle of this and calls protesters SOBs while already campaigning for 2020. - NFL Week 3) League wide protest / display of "unity". This speaks to fallacies on both sides of the argument, IMO.

Emphathy is lost on those who do not value those who complain. A too large segment of white America has been against all forms of protests by black Americans. Against all rights sort by black Americans. They were against abolishing slavery. Against integration. Against fair housing. Against voting rights. Against equality. This is nothing new. Just a repeat of history. The same people feel this is their country as if it is not African Americans' ' country. That it is their flag, not African Americans ' flag. That somehow African Americans are interlopers whose rights are subject to verification and allowance by white people. Some whites, like most here, are too insulated by their white privilege to even consider or try to understand the plight of the African American. They have been programmed to demonize blacks and ignore their issues. So what you read here is the typical response. Make it about disrespect for the flag or military. Plead ignorance of what the protest is about. Make no true effort to try to understand the complaint. Demonize the protestors. And that is what blacks have complained about in America. Blacks want to hold America to its proclaimed standards of all men are created equal, truth and justice for all, free speech, equal justice under the law, etc. Whereas, many white Americans take offense to the audacity of black people believing those standards apply to them.

If white America was against the abolishment of slavery and against integration, fair housing, voting rights than how did you obtain these rights?

It's funny to see some of you who act like you don't know why this started and why it's grown. When a person already had hate in their, they'll try everything to not see issues and what people are telling them. It's very clear and has been said many times. There is an issue with police overzealous actions in general. In addition, another subset is the many inequalities and racism exhibited by cops in many of those instances against a minority for very little or no reason. This is to bring it to an end and open people's eyes. Who cares if the latest exponential growth was brought on by the village idiot in office. He put on full display the hate, bigotry, supremacy, and stupidity that causes a lot of the murders by cop. Not all cops are bad, but in many of the Rants eyes nearly all blacks are bad people unless they perform a service or entertainment for you. It's easy to accept them because those pose no threat to you. Most black people want and strive to get along with every man, except the lost idiots killing our own neighbors and friends for no reason. I speak about that often as do most blacks, but police brutality is the topic at hand.

The police homicide statistics do not support your POV. You should do some research. Start at the Washington Post, they chronicle every police homicide in the country and you can see the race by race breakdown

Then according to your argument the justice system is corrupt and racist because in the vast majority of these cases a jury was selected and both sides argued their case evidence was presented and a not guilty verdict was given on the side of the police. So is the justice system racist or do we look to the media as judge and jury?

Any protest has to have a clear issue and "call to action" otherwise no one knows what is going on. If during the Civil Rights Movement, Blacks stopped riding the bus, but didn't say why, how effective could it be. Or if women marching down the street neglected to say they wanted to vote, all the men would say "must be that time of month." It's hard to take it seriously without more definition. IMO

They don't actually want to do the hard labor in their own communities to fix the sorts of problems they're protesting, they'd rather spend a minute kneeling on TV because its easier and makes them feel good about themselves.

This is how it should be handled by all teams. It shows unity, comroderie, and the message doesn't get lost on someone like me who tends to get infuriated when the spirit of this country's freedoms aren't used against the spirit of this country.

Unity for what? Against Police brutality? The National Anthem? Patriotism? Brotherhood of Players? First Amendment Rights? Anti-Trump? Union Pride? What???? The message if so confusing that it just strikes most as offensive to AMERICA when a bunch of privileged, wealthy sports franchise owners and players are complaining about their treatment in a country where they are so overly compensated and pampered. The fans are also upset because this isn't the platform for political activism. Fans just want to watch football and not have to listen to this nonsense. These players, coaches, owners and sponsors are just so scared of being labeled racist that they getting used for an ultra liberal agenda behind all of this mess. Put the NFL aside for a while until they decide to purge this nonsense and quit trying to justify everything.

I agree, you never mix politics or religion with work. But if they are so compelled that they feel that they have to “protest”, That’s the way to do it. It’s all horse shite anyway; you can’t really protest idealism. It’s not like they’re fighting for anything that can be quantified like changes in laws that improve equal rights.
