Bill Belichick Convinced Tim Tebow To Pass On $1 Million Endorsement
An excerpt from Tim Tebow's book Shaken has been hitting the web today. It involves Tim sharing a story of Patriots head coach Bill Belichick convincing him to turn down a million dollar endorsement, then not too long after that conversation he cut the QB...
quote:

I remembered when I had signed with the team in June. Then I’d had an offer on the table to make a one-day appearance endorsing a product for a million-dollar paycheck. [...]

So when the offer for the one-day commercial came turned up, I was sure to discuss the opportunity with him. “I want to know what you think, Coach,” I said. “I respect you and I want to fit in. I want to be one of the guys. Should I do it?

He thought for a moment and shook his head. “Timmy, I would really appreciate it if you didn’t.”

Highly respecting the man, I turned down the deal.

Wonder what that endorsement was? Any guesses?

I'd like to think this was how Joe Alleva's talks with F King Alexander went during the coaching search.

Tebow wouldn't even have to start. Jax fans would buy as many season tix as they could get their hands on. He's beyond a rock star there, it's his home town.

Jacksonville Jaguars could sign Tebow to a contract today and just keep him on the roster till he's eligible to retire from the NFL. They would bring in so much additional revenue that they'd cover his salary 10x or more just from his mere presence. Giant fools in Jacksonville.

No they couldn't. That joke goes 6 games max. Glad Shad ain't into that shite. The jumbo shrimp need a sub .200 hitter to fill the seats though.

Tebow's fault for asking Belichick's opinion. Belichick is only concerned with the effect on the Patriots (I don't blame him, it's his only real concern), so Tebow should've done what's best for Tebow. The NFL is a business, Tim. Tebow knew there was a risk he'd be cut.

Sounds like Tebow cared more about making the team than making the money. Of course Tim Tebow wrote this book, and this statement is good promotion

Don't have a dog in this fight but given the fact that belichek was already doing tebow a favor by giving him a shot, and not wanting a media circus, I kind of agree with him I also find it hilarious he calls him 'Timmy' :rotflmao:

Tebow is an idiot for asking another grown man if he should accept a $1 million paycheck.

Wonder what it could have been that Belicheck wouldn't want him to do it? Why would he care what endorsements the guys are doing?
