Damar Hamlin has been the focus of morning program. ESPN's First Take had a number of guests on to talk about the aftermath of Hamlin collapsing on the field during Monday Night Football, including Bart Scott who first called the hit that led to Hamlin's medical emergency "routine," but after an off-camera discussion with Stephen A. Smith during a commercial break, came back to accuse Tee Higgins of lowering his helmet and using it as a weapon on the play. Jump to 5:20 mark...

If Bart were white, he would’ve been fired right there on the spot

TV guys sensationalize to sell their product. It was a routine play. A Freak accident. Commotio Cordis. A force to the chest that transmits the force to the heart, which shorts circuits it’s electrical system. It is like hitting a diamond in the sweet spot and shattering it. You can hammer a diamond for a life time and never find the sweet spot. Players are trained to hit with the chest.
I hope he makes a full recovery.

I watched the game. There was nothing out of line with either player on that play and no indication that anyone would be injured.

If that's the case, Earl Campbell would be in jail for attempted murder.

Congrats on downvoting everyone in the thread. That is your prerogative, but giving yourself an upvote is downright embarrassing. Also, I’m pretty certain that you’ve never stepped foot on a football field, with that comment.

He’s getting destroyed on social media. Rhetorical question but how does ESPN put these guys on TV. He called for hurting Joe Burrow last year on this same platform. What a loser!

Garbage. #1 it’s false. #2 even if true it’s just part of the game not like he was trying to kill him FFS. Stupid clown freaking take.

This is unnecessary and insensitive. Talking about lowering helmets and regulations is political. Might as well be saying Clot Shot like these Poli Board cock suckers.

Apparently Scott didn’t actually look at the hit. Higgins hit Hamblin in the chest with his shoulder. His helmet didn’t impact the chest, and certainly not over the heart area.
