Nick Saban was on SportsCenter on Saturday night where he took a little shot at Ohio State when talking about the College Football Playoff:
quote:

“I would say if that if we lost to a team in our conference that was not ranked by 30 points, we wouldn’t be in this conversation, you wouldn’t even be talking to me,” Saban told Scott Van Pelt. “We lost to Auburn at Auburn, which is a rivalry game for us. [It’s a] tough place to play. Georgia lost by a whole bunch there too, a lot more than we did, and they are in. They played their way into it. I think if the four best teams get in, we’ll get a lot of really strong consideration. I think our team deserves to be in it.”
Here was Urban Meyer's reaction to that...

Update: After the decision was made Meyer said he completely understood because they were a 2 loss team, including a really bad 30 pt loss. He did not complain. He said the committee had a job to do and he thinks they made the right decision. He is looking forward to his Bowl game. Case closed. He was all class.

Then why did they jump PSU last year?

When are lsu fan going to wake up and realize their institution is run by morons. Of course bama cheats the system and politicizes all things. That's what they do. Now you have a Saban clone in another political market in College Station to your West. LSU committed to being average and that's what they will continue to be. Alleva dumbass could have Jimbo in BR but didn't want to take the risk. He settled for mediocrity. From a business point of view, you have to completely respect Bama and A&M for having the vision of greatness and the balls to act on it. LSU, not so much

U r a blind zebra. Do realize we went 9-3, 6-2 idiot? After only one recruiting class from coach O. Jumbo went 6-6, barely after 10 or so recruiting classes, i say it again, idiot. Plus $75, atm is so stupid and desperate its sad.

WE WOULD OF BEAT BAMA BY 3 TD IF WE HAD A QB. LSU HAD NOT HAD A QB SINCE BERT JONES!!!!!!!!!!! HE COOULD THOW THE BALL RIGHT TO YOU EVER TIME HE NEVER MISS!!!!!!!!!!

Please, before you speak for Tiger Nation have someone check your spelling, punctuation and grammar! You're not helping us with this incoherent mess. Please tell us you were educated in the Alabama public school system.

You make our entire fan base look bad when you rage out like this.

Ok, for all of you that are just happy that there are 2 SEC teams in the playoffs, just think about this. We do not compete with other conferences for recruits like we do with Bama. In my opinion the less Bama wins and the further they get from a national championship the better off we are. As long as Saban can lay out those rings and almost guarantee young recruits a shot at a title in the four years they are on the team they will go for it whether they get to play or not. I'm for the SEC but I'm for LSU first! BUCK FAMA!

Agree 100%, the gumps are our #1 enemy.

Screw you for making me try to hear that.

Seriously, hate aside, there isn't anyone better than Alabama ranked 5th-25th. I'm ok with them being in. Their body of work speaks for itself.

Urban should just fake another health scare and go somewhere else where he may have a better chance of getting in.
Reply8 days
What else was he supposed to do but smile? He knows that Saban is exactly right about what he said. Secondly, he got in last year not winning the conference so he can't really say conference championships matter.

sec office got what they wanted. bama laid down and got two teams in and a bye week out of it.

The committee went way out on a limb last year for Ohio St and the Buckeyes made them look like a bag of cocks.

I gotta say Coach Urban Meyer is truly being very classy about all this.

This is fun but Alabama will get their shite pushed in on national TV by Clemson and it will be hilarious. Alabama is the new Notre Dame.

Just out of curiosity, what historically leads you to this conclusion? Obviously this is what you WANT to happen but not necessarily reality.

That's what you want to happen Placebeaux. Sometimes what you desperately want to happen doesn't always come to fruition honky.

The “eaux” in his username should explain all...

Even Saban admitted that UGA played their way in. The biggest travesty of this year is that Bammer pleaded in even though they didn't play their way in.
Reply9 days
Why's it a travesty? Two teams were vying for 1 spot. One had 1 loss and the other team had 2 losses (one of which was by 31 to a 7-5 Iowa team).

Saban has given it to Meyer time after time....and Meyer can do nothing but take it. AND Saban was right.

You are aware that Urban beat Saban on his way to a title to He last time they faced eachother, right?

@bucknut15 - you are aware that Ohio State got in last year to the CFB based on the exact same spot Bama was in this year, right?

College Spun is a joke. Reminds me of the National Enquirer but sports related

Neither of those two a-holes deserve to be in it.

for fricks sake, is this being recorded on a phone while playing the tv on a set of headphones? my laptop won't even get loud enough to hear any of the video.
