ESPN’s Booger McFarland Is Done With Your Excuses For Alabama Losing To Clemson
© Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN’s Booger McFarland appeared on The Paul Finebaum Show on Thursday to let you know he's done with everyone making excuse for Alabama losing to Clemson last January...
quote:

“I’ve been listening to your show and I’ve kinda been a little disappointed – and here’s why. Everyone seems to say when Alabama loses, the kids aren’t focused,” McFarland said. “Mack Wilson is worried about winning the Butkus (Award). These players are concerned with their individual accolades. How about saying that Clemson was the better team and (Alabama) got beat. That’s the one thing that people who call into (Finebaum’s show) don’t say.

“Sometimes there isn’t a reason or excuse and the other team is better…What about that the other team is just better? Dabo has done one hell of a job. And I was at the game, Paul, Clemson lined up and beat Alabama. It wasn’t a fluke. Tua (Tagovailoa) wasn’t sick and didn’t have the flu.

“(Clemson) just lined up and beat Alabama and hit them square in the mouth and beat them. And I think that’s the thing that if you ask him, Nick Saban, he’ll tell you (that)…Let’s stop with the excuses. Alabama got beat by a better team that’s called the Clemson Tigers.”

And that dude from Hanson that's quarterbacking Clemson was better than Tua in that game. Might be better period, since Tua seems to have been figured out by defenses toward the end of the season.

People process the same way with nearly everything, politics being the most dangerous area that people refuse to be honest with themselves.

Face facts this year. Clemson has a three game season if they show up each week. Get by A&M and they can start getting ready for the playoffs. Who on that schedule can realistically even show them down? Come November they will be game planning for Alabama again.

Alabama didn't get beat. They got beat up and beat down

So fricking what? People talking about this as if Bama is devastated by the loss? They’re planning their next trip to the Championship unless we beat them.....twice.

Twice is a fact. Bama will get a mulligan under any and all circumstances.

Clemson had an advantage that they will have against anyone they play this year, and Booger can chew on this, like it or not. Alabama had a much tougher path to get to Clemson. And likely will again. Clemson had a cakewalk to that final game and an easy draw in the first round with ND, a team they knew they would handle. They were probably gameplanning for Bama for no telling how long, while Bama had to worry about a rivalry game wth AU, the SECCG war with UGA and a tough draw vs Oklahoma. Clemson had a great plan, executed it and was the better team, but they had a long time to get ready. After the Texas A&M game this year, they have no one left to challenge them all the way to the playoffs and can basically look like world beaters and plan for whoever it looks like they might meet. Booger they have a massive advantage because of that cupcake league they play in.

Speaking of excuses...you're one of the people Booger was talking a out. Clemson didn't do anything special with their game plan. They just executed at a high level and shut Bama down.

Look at all the people that can't handle the truth and can't read. I said the best team won the game but they didn't see that at all. You have an advantage because of that non league you plat in and you have it in a big way no matter who you play this time around.

Talk about not paying attention. Big EZ Tiger is a fan of LSU. So...

What I don't like is Georgia's excuse for not being up to play Texas is just taken as gospel. I want to hear the same folks say hey, Georgia got their arse whipped by a better team. If we have no excuses that should apply to all. I think Bama was crucified for saying they didn't get up for Utah but Georgia seems to be acceptable to say they just didn't get up. No excuses from anybody. No ref excuses, no weather, no injuries. Everyone just admit u got whipped by a better team whenever u lose.

Because noone believes Texas is better than Georgia.

Meh, Clemson was better that night. That's all that matters. I said after we stomped Miami in 92 that if we played 10 times they'd win 8. Bama was best one night. Clemson, on this past night in January, would have beaten any team from any era. We'll see if they can repeat it.

I member when people used to say this about LSU when playing Alabama...fingers crossed we get back there this year and every year to come after that.

It pretty crazy to see how far Clemson has come under Swinney and the same DC. I remember watching Geno Smith and West Virginia score almost a 100 vs Clemson in the Orange bowl. Now, over the past 5 years they have been a top team.

They started matching Bama's pay on the recruiting trail. Bama had no rivals when it came to passing out money. Now they have one, Clemson and it shows on the field.

It's this simple, Alabama was out coached, out schemed, and out played! Which resulted into a 28 point "Arse Whipping" by the Clemson Tigers.

Alabama will never admit a team is better, any time they lose it’s because their players didn’t care

Truth hurts! They got shite kicked by a better QB and a WR from Alabama. “But but but aLaBaMa got the bestest WRs!” NOT! It might hurt, but dems just da facts!

I’m done with his excuse of commentary during MNF. It’s an embarrassment to LSU.

You're not very bright, who should they replace him with? Haters gonna hate, I guess? I bet you didn't even watch 1 MNF game last year. Booger was the only one that knew a damn what he was talking about SMH!

Tua is a good qb, but there was a better one on the field that night. Clemson’s DC was baiting Tua into throwing passes all night. Passes that Tua could usually throw up and let his first round WRs get them were getting picked.

The only team that can beat Alabama is...Alabama.

"And I think that’s the thing that if you ask him, Nick Saban, he’ll tell you (that)…Let’s stop with the excuses" Except that Saban is one of the people GIVING the excuses. He is the one who said his players weren't focused and were distracted by individual accolades.
