Deion Sanders Addresses Rumors He's Looking To Leave Jackson State
© Tori Lynn Schneider / USA TODAY NETWORK
In an interview with Thee Pregame Show last week, Deion Sanders addressed the speculation that he may leave Jackson State for a bigger coaching opportunity...
quote:

“I’m happy where I am. It’s a calling where I am. God didn’t give me a timetable. He said, ‘You’ve got to go be there for how long.’ He told me to do what (He) asked me to do and do it at a high level,” he said.

“Now, I don’t know the timetable for any of that, so I’m not going to tell anybody the timetable. I don’t know. God hasn’t given me the timetable for those instructions, but what I do concern myself with is my coaching staff. I feel like I have a phenomenal coaching staff and they’re coaching their butts off. I’m trying to find ways to compensate them even more because they’ve out-coached their salaries.

“Say I took a job at a Power 5. That does not change my lifestyle. That doesn’t do nothing for me, I’m good. God has sustained me. I’m good. But it does for them. So I’m trying to do things to create more revenue at an HBCU so that I can stabilize my guys.”

Serious question, can a coaching staff get NIL deals? Yes, I know they are professional and can make extra money, but just wondering if they could be supplemented thru that channel

Of course.Coaches have been doing commercials/endorsements for years and has nothing to do with NIL for players

I still can't get over the fact that Neon Deion spends most of his days in Jackson, Mississippi.

The media is obsessed over this clown - who exactly is speculating he's leaving? Who cares?

When St. Nick Saban has to retire, I think Alabama would do pretty good hiring Sanders.

No shit, it is so unbelievable how stupid the general public is. I really think Sanders is going to pull it off and get hired by a power 5 school. I just hope it is FSU so he can burn that place down.

So at any moment, God can just tell him he wants him to coach elsewhere. That's a really good out to establish

'18 had 25k average attendance. '21 had 35k. That could be asst. coach money, but it got Louisiana'ed off. The siphon sound you heard was admins. getting fat.

Leave Louisiana out of this. By the way “Coach Prime” got beat by ULM and then lost to a mediocre (7-5) South Carolina State in the Cricket Celebration Bowl.

I was referring to the LA taxpayers money being siphoned off by their politicians. The same as the extra gate money at Jackson state.

How do you think that #1 recruit that signed with Deion feels now?

Doesn't matter. Transfer portal fixes it all now with no penalty. Believe me, the portal is the only reason these kids are signing there besides the $ b/c they know they can leave at any time.
