Browns QB Baker Mayfield Lays Into Texas Tech Coach Kliff Kingsbury
© Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports
Cleveland Browns rookie QB Baker Mayfield has a new FOX Sports docu-series called 'All The Way Up' where he recently discussed his hatred for Texas Tech Kliff Kingsbury...
quote:

The QB pulled no punches in his new FOX Sports docu-series, 'All The Way Up' -- saying Kliff treated him like a god when he stepped in and won 5 games as a freshman walk-on back in 2013.

But, when Baker sprained his MCL against Kansas -- Mayfield says everything changed.

"It went from being 'the guy' for Coach Kingsbury ... and then when I got hurt, it just changed a little bit ... not a little bit, a lot."

"All the sudden it was as if I hadn't played for him, hadn't done anything for him. It was just different after I got hurt."

It’s a battle of “Who’s the Bigger Weasel?” Close because they are both huge weasels but I think Kingsbury has the edge.

"... Texas A&M head coach..." Huh? Wrong team. Texas Tech is correct.

Can't tell you how much I love that the Dawgs came back and beat him in the Rose Bowl after he did that neck slash crap early on.

It's really stupid to feed motivation to an opponent. Adrenalin kicks in and acts like a hit of speed.

Just the next name in a long list of OU QBs that accomplish precisely dick in the NFL. Bradford had by far the most success, albeit injury ridden, and he is immensely humble. When will the rest learn to just shut up and go to work? The butthurt in this one is very strong....

KK was the reason Sumlin was successful at UH and aTm.

This guy is a walking problem. He'll be the next Johnny manziel. It's easy to put up numbers in the big 12. The only move Kingsbury ever made that was decent was running this guy off.

Agreed. Texas Tech definitely wouldn’t have been the better team with a future heisman trophy winner on the sidelines.

Just another bad draft pick by the Browns. They should have taken Barkley at #1 and then Rosen at #4.

Hello they could have taken Barkley @ 1 and Mayfield would have still been there @ 4. Not sure what they were thinking on draft day.

Rosen is a little bit of a head case too

Nothing against Baker, but he does seem overly and vocally sensitive to criticism. That’s not a good character trait for an NFL QB.

Kliff Kingsbury is a massive douche.

Remember when Kingsbury had a “dance off” at practice with his players. What a schmuck...

He will screw up again soon. It is in his DNA. White Jameis is on the lookout for his next crab leg opportunity.

I don't know how Baker even walks around with that massive chip always on his shoulder.

nobody wanted the guy out of high school. now look at him. It obviously motivates him. Everyone hates on the guy, but I think that is what makes him successful. He channels it for good, unlike frickwads like Manziel and crab legs. And I'm no Baker fan, just saying he seems different. I hope he does well

I get it. He has done well to channel that underdog/nobody believes in me role. Just doesn't have quite the same ring to it coming from a Heisman Trophy winning, #1 pick of the NFL draft QB.
