His hips cleared by at least a foot. He's gonna play the long game on this one and I don't blame him.

Pole vaulting (especially at anything near that height) has to be one of the craziest events in all of sports... Geaux Swedish Tiger!

Mondo sets a new world record at least once a month.

Hot take: this guy is pretty good at jumping with a pole

He clearly has the height to clear 21 feet. It’s all about hitting his plant and release points perfectly, and having the bar at the right depth, so that he doesn’t hit the bar going up or coming down. I wish somebody could just offer him $1 million to clear 21 feet, so he would just go ahead and do it! As long as he keeps getting a bonus for each record, he will be breaking it 1/4” at a time. Lol.

I want to see him in the ddcathLon. He would win the 100, pole vault, 400, and long jump. The discus and shot put would be his only bad events.

I bet he can throw a javelin but again, he would have to change his body style which would come with age anyway.

It seems criminal that a baw from Lafayette named Duplantis is breaking world records and Sweden gets all the credit.

Wrong board. Let us know when he’s ready to rep America again instead of Sweden.

Let us know when America is ready to support him so he can rep them. You expect him to train on his own dime?

And he gets 100k in US dollars for breaking a world record.

LOL - He made the best choice. Not only did they want him, the whole country of Sweden stayed up late last night to watch this. Only LSU fans and those totally in to Track and Field would know this happened if it was in the US.

May want to talk to USA Track and Field on that one. He has pay for all of his own training if he was with US Track, Sweden pays for his training.
