He would have won 10 or more titles at LSU. What could have been.....

What he did for the program is unmatched… Put us on the map with our first natty since 58… Not sure number two or three happen without his early influence. He set the bar and standard at LSU where it had not been in a very long time.

This is definitely the good. I always liked LSU when I was a kid and knew they had something there but just needed the right coach to bring it out. When Saban did it in '03, you just knew LSU became a power. Even after Saban left, LSU has been a contender almost season since.

Amazing coach. I’m not mad about it any longer. His story will always have an LSU chapter and I will always be grateful for it, he was amazing at Bama and I hated them, but I never hated him. Thanks Coach.

I don't disparage Nick for leaving. I obviously hate that he ended up at Bama but I don't think he'd have magically brought all that Bama success to LSU had he stayed. It all worked out. Tigers did alright and the lore that Saban played in it here will always be part of the story. I DO like the fact he speaks so highly of that LSU tenure and I think it helps us out. I also like the fact he's no longer coaching at Bama. It makes it a lot easier to love what he did for us here.

Bama would have never had that success without Saban. UA was an absolute dumpster fire and will be again now that he is gone. LSU would have won every title Bama won plus some in my opinion, had he never left BR.

The LSU job simply wasn't open after Miami else he would have gladly gone back to LSU. Obviously, I am glad he came to Bama but if I was an LSU fan, I would have been pissed. I'm pissed when Bama players leave and go to other programs. I totally get it.

At least he’s a big enough man to admit leaving was a mistake, kinda makes me forgive him for taking the Bama job after Miami

That makes me hate his "Christmas present" to us all in 2004 even more.

Come on guys he is not a douche he admits he made a mistake it hurts to see it happen the way it went but he did good things for us and our Tigers

He now understands the harm he caused LSU by going to Bama. LSU would have won at least one more title if not more

This makes it even worse, just keeping pouring salt in the wound and twisting the knife...it feels good.

Why does he always second guess what he did at Bama?

Coach you did a hell of a job at LSU! You brought us a Natty in 03 and we ALL love you for that. The changes in mind set and attitude that you developed within the program were so deeply rooted that they remained long after your departure. From 2003 - 2019, just about every 4 years LSU found itself in the National Championship game because we continued to build upon the excellence that you initiated on Day 1. Thank you, Coach.
