He did not threaten to directly shut down the football program, He was describing a worst case scenario. If LSU was to shut down, then hypothetically there would not be a football program as there would be no students since the school was closed. Edwin Edwards did similar things. It was and is not anything people would expect to come to fruition. However, the previous administration gave away so many tax credits that it is crippling our finances. There is damned little corporate income tax paid, and the corporations are going to fight to keep it that way.
