Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette was showing off a little bit of LSU pride by wearing purple and gold shoulder pads under his jersey when he played Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday.

On Thursday, Fournette explained why he wears the LSU pads:

Its sad and pathetic, and unfortunately expected that he could get fined. The fact that it is even a possibility is just dumb.

I'm not sure what brand of pads LSU and Jacksonville use but if they're both Nike it shouldn't be a big deal

Rep the Tigers any way you can. I'll be pulling against the Patriots in the playoffs for the first time in a long time.

Perfect response to the reported would of been “Well first it’s purple and gold, not purple and yellow showing”

Several Tigers have done clips showing they still wear their LSU pads. They say LSU designed them to fit the player. The NFL gives come as they are shoulder pads.

Met fournette a couple times in school. Such a great guy! I wish LSU could have done more for him (hired a different HC) but Im glad to see he's still representing LSU. He deserves everything good coming his way

What would have given him more than the one that fed him the ball constantly? Leonard is fine.

What type of idiot would question LF7s loyalty to BR and south LA.
