LSU head coach Ed Orgeron spent Friday night at the Hewitt-Trussville vs. Thompson high school game in Alabama, a matchup that featured two Alabama quarterback commits, and Crimson Tide star passer Tua Tagovailoa on the sidelines.

Cameras were able to catch Orgeron chatting with Tagovailoa and AL.com writer Joseph Goodman suggested it was a strategic move by Orgeron to be at the game.

Give the off-week victory to Coach ‘O.’

Of all the high school games in the country on Friday night, Orgeron chose the one featuring two Alabama quarterback commitments on the field, and Alabama’s superstar quarterback on the sideline. He was there to be on national television in enemy territory. He was there to steal the recruits, and steal the scene, too.

And he was there to send a message: LSU is coming.

The Alabama quarterback commits that he was talking about were Taulia Tagovailoa, Tua's younger brother and Paul Tyson who is the great-grandson of former Alabama coach Paul Bryant.
