The LSU-Ole Miss rivalry is not slowing down anytime soon, especially after recent comments from Rebels head coach Pete Golding this week.

Golding spoke with Chris Low of On3 and said he didn't come to Ole Miss just because of Lane Kiffin, and he detailed that he wasn't happy with how Kiffin's exit from Oxford went.
quote:

“That’s not why I came here. This had been going on for two years, whether Lane was going to leave, even the Florida talk the year before. I was like, ‘Hey bro, I Iove you, but don’t get it twisted. I didn’t come here for you.’”

“My issue with Lane was what he did to the other people around him, the position they were put in and then the perception of what it was. I just told him, ‘I’m not going to sit here and tell you I can respect that because I don’t. I can understand the competitive part, but not the rest of it with the players and other people in this building.’”

Yet, we have receipts from him calling and asking what it would look like (staffing) if he came over to LSU with Lane... before he was hired at Ole Miss.

i would say one day, pete would know how it feels to be pulled from an eternal bottom feeder to go lead a program with proven success...........but i doubt we ever see that happen. he's likely to be fired before he gets a promotion.

Lane if you never accomplish a damn thing at LSU would you please bury OM on Sept 20? Please for love of all that is holy. Bury the mfers so this quits being news. Beat them so fricking bad that they fire alcoholic Pete in the fricking sideline.

I’m going to say it, Pete Golding is no Marcus Freeman. Ole Miss AD copied what the Notre Dame AD did and it will not work. It’s going to get ugly in Ole Miss the next couple years. Going to be entertaining!

Who cares, honestly. His only chance at relevance is to say shite to stay in the media shadow of Kiffin.
Ole piss is done. They'll lose a few and then any talent left will evaporeate. And guess who'll be holding the shite bag of sandwiches....yep..Pete. they'll hang the downturn on him, fire him, and he'll be some irrelevant assistant coach at some crap school

I agree that Kiffin could have handled this better, he could have been more honest: he knew he was leaving and he let it drag out. Then again I suppose he really though they’d let him coach in the playoffs and he was hoping for that

Why can't both coaches just let the ish go, I'm sure they have more important things to worry about than this drama.

Pete comes off like a little bitch... Who does that sh!t?? He will look like a fool when we beat them down as they are favorites in their own stadium. It will indeed be a glorious melt. At the end of the year, his fans will want his head on a platter.
