Former Florida head coach Steve Spurrier appeared on the "Another Dooley Noted Podcast" this week and talked about the Gators' loss to LSU. Here's what he had to say, per On3:
quote:

“It was not a good way to lose,” he said bluntly. “Our defense played super. They gave up one touchdown and maybe a field goal, although I think it came after a turnover. We threw too many passes. Obviously, when you don’t hit ’em, you threw too much. We had our chances, but five interceptions, you gotta throw five touchdowns to throw five interceptions.

“…I’m sure coach (Billy) Napier’s looking at the stats and looking at this, that and the other and saying ‘We can’t throw the ball 45, 50 times. We need to run it half the time.’ I got a feeling we’ll make some changes in the game plan.”

Lagway is another Jalen Milroe. All the tools but doesn’t make good decisions.

Napier has lost control of this football team, a player spit on another opposing team's player. Doesn't suspend the player! Now one of his assistant coaches' hits another opposing team's player and nothing is done as well. Does Billy Napier know the definition of discipline? Obviously not!

Florida has fallen a long way. It used to rule the SEC

Spurriers tenure there will never be duplicated. Florida had NEVER won the SEC until he came. He then wins it in 93,94,95,96 and 2000. Meyer had a couple really good teams also but Florida is the Florida now that I watched growing up when I would wonder if they could win 1 game.

So no credit to our D Backs pasted to their Receivers like gravy on rice? If Weeks hadn’t been tossed it would have been worse for their QB.

Not that that game was anything for LSU to gloat about, but he’s missing another FG and LSU kneeling near the goal line on first down (and Nuss getting shoved in a show of great sportsmanship), a timeout and plenty of time to score 6-7 more.

This win is for you coach Spurrier. Thanks for pushing us to become the program that we are today.

The old ball coach was being nice to Coach Napier by not calling him out on the horrible execution of the gator’s passing. Ramos had two field goals instead of one and Nussmeier had the one TD pass. Both defenses were very good and both offenses were below average to horrible.

If I’m a florida fan, I’m shaking my head that Baugh didn’t get twice the amount of carries he did.

Throwing too much is why #1 went down in Baton Rouge in 97. :)
