On Monday during his weekly press conference, head coach Ed Orgeron was asked if he thinks LSU's band should play the 'Neck' in Tiger Stadium during games?
quote:

"You know that's not my business," Orgeron said "But I kind of like the song. I don't like some of the words, I gotta say that... I don't. But I like the tune. I think it gets everybody fired up. But that's not my business."

LSU: We need to put women in minimal attire dancing in front of the band

Also LSU: We cant play this song because drunk people chant words we dont like.

So basically coach O is saying STTDB

"I think it gets everybody fired up." Waaaay more than piped in bullshite music of any genre. Make the band the centerpiece of crowd entertainment again, and the atmosphere will go back to resembling the Great Deaf Valley.

It's wrong to not want your children to hear that? You must not have kids. If parents can't bring kids to the games it removes lots of fans that would actually stay till the end.

@setinways12 - if you're concerned for your children's ears, then I suggest keeping them at home in a closet. I've heard far more profanity laced tirades from folks not in the student section on game days. I understand your view point, albeit, unrealistic. REal talk - Student section will chant whatever it wants, whenever it wants. This would not be an issue today had LSU not made it an issue years ago.

LSU in stadium experience is becoming pretty mediocre. If we got to scream STTDB in order to get riled up, so be it.

Do we want a great atmosphere and winning team or do we really just want to tell suck my dick as loud as possible?

It's tacky as hell but you can't stop people from chanting. Who cares really?

Just let the kids say STTDB and don’t make a big deal about it. I don’t know why people are so sensitive about it.
user avatar

Just think if we could have Neck without the vulgarity. Crunk stadium and positive recruiting tool.

Do we even need the band to play Neck to chant STTDB? No. Chant it without the band... what are they going to do? They can't kick everybody out. Then maybe they'll let the band play it to help drown out the profanity.

No more student section. Yes that could happen. Try them.

It may be bad for recruiting as well. I think the family of Tim tebow would have crossed lsu off there list if they heard that song on a recruiting visit..there family isn't the only Christian family out there that would take that as a serious minus for going to lsu

FTR, you don't have to be a christian to find it trashy & inappropriate.
