Report: Texas A&M Expected To Fire Kevin Sumlin After LSU Game

Multiple sources are reporting that Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin will be fired after the LSU game. Per The Houston Chronicle:

COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin will be fired following the Aggies' regular-season finale at LSU on Saturday night, multiple people with knowledge of the situation said.

Sumlin is expected to be dismissed in the day or days following the A&M game against the Tigers. The Aggies are a double-digit underdog to the Tigers, and an A&M victory wouldn't save his job at this point, the sources said.

Many believe that the University will pursue Florida State's Jimbo Fisher to be his replacement.

Fisher won a national title following the 2013 season with the Seminoles, but FSU is 4-6 so far this season, easily his worst showing in eight years as head coach in Tallahassee, Fla. He's won at least 10 games in a season six times at FSU, something Sumlin has managed once at A&M in six seasons.

An ideal day or 2 after eating the big bird. Bama could somehow get whipped by Auburn and the Tigers throttle or just beat the Faggies. In that order. A Bama loss could potentially knock the tide out of the playoffs if Homa and Consin keep winning. Miami and Clemson winner is in. Nothing would make my holidays more special than a Bama loss or plane crash

A&M truly is a sleeping giant make no mistake about that. I was hoping they would keep Sumlin there for a few more seasons. The right coach/recruiter at Texas A&M would-will make the rest of us use more profanity on Saturdays. This hire is big for the other 13 schools in our conference.

Jimbo and all his problems can go to A&M. He is a loser and it is starting to show. LSU will continue to dominate A&M whether Jimbo "Bubble Screen" Fisher goes there ot not. Sumlin and Fisher are about the same caliber of coach. This isn't the ACC. Lol.

This is laughable. Why would Jimbo Fisher leave FSU for A&M? They are not an elite program and never have been. I still don’t know how they got into the SEC. I can’t see another coach doing any better than Sumlin has done, given what little he has to work with. His biggest mistake was hiring Chavis and his prevent defense. So glad we got rid of him.
