LSU self-reported two secondary NCAA violations this fall, according to The Advocate.

This first violation involved an unnamed LSU football player that received a car ride from an agent earlier this year.

The second violation involved a recruit who met an ex-LSU player on the sideline during a game this season and shook his hand. Another prospect took a picture with a music artist that was on the sideline.
quote:

The unnamed player who received the ride from an agent had to repay the value of the car ride to his charity of choice, and the school also forced the player to give a presentation on agents to teammates.

Names of players and coaches are not released in documents detailing violations. The exact date of the violation is also not detailed. It was reported on Aug. 25, during the final week of preseason camp.

The university also reported two secondary violations stemming from recruits’ interactions on the sideline during pregame festivities. As a result of the violations, the university created a restricted area for recruits and their families to stand for LSU’s final home game against Florida on Nov. 19.
These violations are secondary in nature and carry no real penalty, according to the report.

I thought we were on bama's level when I read this... "The first violation involved an unnamed LSU football player that received a car"... but then I got to "ride"...

Ok. I'll go ahead and say it. Les Miles has lost control of his ex-players.

He hitched a ride and it just happened to be an agent. Please. Even so, how ridiculous is this becoming and why report this as news if there's no penalty. What's next? Cameras in the bathroom? NCAA stands for No Credibility At All.

But former NFL players playing on the scout team at practice is cool? They must not have shaken hands, only slammed helmets between the A gaps.

Would rather impose my own punishment then be given one by someone of higher authority. Well done imo.

God forbid. I expect the next report "recruit drank 12 oz cup of sideline Gatorade due to thirst". The thing I don't get is we keep hearing the NCAA is going to overhaul rules to become more realistic and it never happens.

I think someone needs to investigate NCAA officials and start inforcing major violations and change policies for this minor bullshite.

Saban laughs at self reporting. They just violate rules on national tv and dare the NCAA to do something.

Who came up with these ridiculous rules, and tell me why we need the NCAA again, because I really don't see it. I understand why they think they are in-expendable, but exactly why do we really need them?

Lil Wayne is probably involved as an agent and musician. Probably all happened at the Bama game.

It's a stupid rule, but I remember USC getting investigated for Pete Carol having Reggie Bush on speaker phone while Joe McKnight was in the room and Reggie telling Joe that there was nothing to worry about as far as the NCAA investigation. Then Joe came out and said Reggie wasn't on speaker phone, Pete just repeated what Reggie said, so there was no direct interaction.
