Multiple sources are reporting that LSU freshman tight end Arik Gilbert is considering transferring out of the football program. The former five-star prospect from Marietta, GA is reportedly homesick and missed practice on Monday.

Gilbert has started in all eight of LSU's games this season, catching 35 receptions for 368 yards and two touchdowns.

Stay tuned for more updates.

What is going on in this program?

The same that happens to any program that loses that has to replace 19 starters, six first round picks, all of it starting receivers from the beginning of this year, its starting quarterback, and had to replace to coordinators (one and head coach, the other is an offensive coordinator for the Panthers). Personally I think Gilbert is a good athlete but tight ends don't change the gsme in college.

O has lost the program. Woodward gotta let Ed go to salvage what’s left. Sooner or later the few recruits that we have will abandon ship also.

How about Woodward goes first. He has destroyed all support for LSU Athletics by selling the program out to the SJW's and cowering to the Leftist mobs.

@cdawsom, I doubt it’s political. If so, maybe favoritism on Woodward’s part for hiring a local (O), over more qualified coaches from out of state. If the program went sour over players marching for social justice then maybe the program was destined to be shits from the start. It’s simply a leadership crisis going on. We need to clean house starting from the top on down. I truly believe the program is suffering from success in addition to covid and a quitting mentality. The kids won’t play for O because they’re stating to believe that O can’t lead them to compete let alone victory.

Bo pelini was the mail in the coffin. All in all I fault Woodward and Aleeva. Should have gave the head coaching job to Dave Aranda.

Ed O has completely lost control of this program and his players. Clearly tehre is no confidence in the coaching staff or the future of the program.

O led the greatest season in college football history. Almost every fan base in the nation loved everything about the 2019 Tigers. In less than 1 year and you guys want to get rid of him. Jesus I hope I am never in a foxhole with this fan base

Agreed. LSU is down 41% of last years team which won the NC and many of our current starters were on the bench or still in high school last year including both of our QBs but somehow this doesn’t matter to the dimwits who populate this board. What a bunch of idiots.

Racist fan base? The players are leaving because they are more obsessed with race then the coaches and fans.they think trump's a white supremacist and dont like o because he said trump did a good job. Lsu fans are the ones tired of it always being a race thing. You are losing your mind if you think the racist ones arent the ones saying BLM

This! They were more worried about dressing in black and marching across campus than being a football team and good teammates!

Yeah it’s ok for stupid young kids to run their mouths and support Communism (BLM admits it) but if you try to support America First, Border Security, improving the VHA for Veterans, lower taxes, rebuilding the Military, getting out of horrible trade deals, forcing our “Allies” to pay for their fair share of NATO, and stop the killing of unborn children (over 25 million since 1973) then you are supposedly a racist. Nope. The truth is you dumbass Democrats are truly stupid and/or Communists.
