Multiple sources are reporting that LSU freshman tight end Arik Gilbert is considering transferring out of the football program. The former five-star prospect from Marietta, GA is reportedly homesick and missed practice on Monday.

Gilbert has started in all eight of LSU's games this season, catching 35 receptions for 368 yards and two touchdowns.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Arik gilbert = pitiful coward; unfit to wear the purple and gold, the colors of nobility.

He is going to look great in orange and blue. Unfortunately he will never achieve the stats he did this year under Gus Malzahn

Lol... y’all said the same thing right before he went and won the National Title and assembled one of the best teams, including staffs, in the history of LSU, the SEC, and NCAA. So not only did he have a winning season, he had a historic season. You’re opinion is another grain of salt in the vast sea of reality. Y’all make this program look bad. Go cry some other place pussE.

They expect a great program and they got Ole Miss. Cannot blame them for looking! College football is no longer about academics and hasn't been there for a long time. I hate to say it but we are seeing the real potential of our coaching staff now!

And he has done what to help improve things at LSU? Have you watched him play? This isn’t high school and he still plays like it. He can’t block worth a crap and he is covered bt a LB most of the time but still isn’t open. He runs lazy routes. Now after 8 games in a Covid year he quits? Well, bye.

College football has created an environment that makes it acceptable to quit. At some point this year the option to opt out should have expired at some point.

Not "college football". Society and the SJW culture that LSU Athletics embraces has created this environment.

Didn't Nick Saban lead the SJW Cultures march for his team. Maybe people like you created the Culture since it bothers you so much.

He’s not homesick, he’s sick of losing. If he were the former then you fly in his mama/auntie/grandma for the week.

Can’t really blame the kid. It’s a weird year to be a college football player, specifically a freshman. You hear all of these stories about how great it is, and now due to COVID he’s practically trapped in his dorm room and doesn’t get to enjoy college. Doesn’t help the state of the team right now and the fact that he gets to see Kyle Pitts highlights at Florida being used like Gilbert should be being used as. Whatever he ends up doing, he’s going to have a hell of a career. Hope he rides this storm out.

Is Kyle Pitts a true freshman? Does Kyle Pitts have a true freshman throwing him the football?
