The Advocate is reporting that Drake Davis' former girlfriend is retracting the allegations of battery against the LSU wide receiver, according to his attorney.
quote:

Marci Blaize said her client’s accuser provided a statement retracting the allegations to her as well as law enforcement.

“I have been contacted by the victim and she has provided me a statement that the allegations are, in fact, false," Blaize said. "It’s my understanding that she has also made similar statements to other entities in law enforcement.”

"The warrant says police obtained the text and photos of bruising." "he texted that he might kill her." ????

Oh dang I didn't read much into it. If that's the case then he may be in a little trouble. No one really knows the exact details so I guess we'll have to let them figure it all out.

Texting that is not against the law. A threat to do bodily harm is not illegal in the state of Louisiana. The closest charge to what you stated is cyber stalking.

Not quite understanding my down votes there. I explained the law which appears to be on his side.......

It really all depends on if the investigators and prosecutors want to move forward. They can easily just drop it all. She can be slapped on the hand for it and it just goes away or they could try to prove that she was or wasn't abused then file charges on the guilty party. Up to them really. If this girl fights them the entire way then they really won't have anything to make stick to him. She could say yes I did break my ribs but I knew that and thought it was a great way to get back at him. Even if she goes back on her word again, a good defense lawyer will kill that prosecutor in court.

Definitely boils down to the ada right now. All in their hands. Do they waste money without a victims testimony in court or drop it.

If she is indeed "retracting" they need to charge her with filing a false report.

The truth is that we are quick to condemn while none of us know Davis personally or whether the allegations are true. If Davis did it, shame on him for playing his hands on a woman. If the report is false then shame on his accuser for trying to ruin his life.

Precisely KT. It's fairly certain one of our "Choir Boys" did something stupid and criminal. It's a viscous environment of where these recruits come from. If some of you rose colored glasses (purple and gold) wearing folks need this explained to you, I'd rather not but I will.

She may have wanted to get paid all along. I've had it with sanctimonious "victims" filing false charges. If he did it, and she let $ talk her into dropping the charges, then fuxk her.

I doubt that TAF or really anyone affiliated with LSU paid this girl to recant, not because I don't think it's possible or that TAF or LSU boosters are above that type of thing. It's just that this guy doesn't seem to be talented enough or needed that drastically at his position. If he was ODB or J Landry type good then no doubt but the risk seems hardly worth the reward with this kid.
