Report: Doug Nussmeier No Longer Headed To LSU, Will Join Staff With Dallas Cowboys

Former Florida offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier will not be joining LSU's staff after all.

Last week, Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman reported that the former Florida, Michigan, and Alabama offensive coordinator would be joining LSU's support staff as an offensive analyst, however, it is now being reporting that Nussmeier landed a full-time job as tight ends coach with the Dallas Cowboys.

Typical of the media to report something that doesn't happen. I hope Orgeron knows what he is doing. I mean, ole Doug is a proven OC in the SEC and would be an excellent choice for OC at LSU. He has a NC to show for his efforts and a resume that includes tutelage under one of the greatest coaches in the history of college football. I don't think Ensminger has a resume as impressive. I hope getting rid of Canada and spurning Nussmeier all in favor of hiring Ensminger as OC isn't some form of nepotism. The head coach who puts personal feelings ahead of the success of the program will eventually suffer, especially when they spurn a good coach in favor of an inferior coach who is also a friend. For some reason, this stuff feels like it has Les Miles name all over it. It doesn't, but it's something that he would do.

Anybody with any intelligence can take a gander at Nussmeiers resume and see he has had success as an OC. I think he has had more success as an OC in the SEC than Ensminger. Maybe I'm wrong. Success often depends on the caliber of players on the field, so, it's a little subjective in nature because the objectives can be mis-leading. Less face it, an offense with Brady at Qb is going to be more successful than an offense with Etling. The coach can be the same, but the player is better.

I know it’s hard to remember. But TRY to remember that the majority of the fan base doesn’t even get on this website.
Don’t let these folks put that bad of a taste in your mouth for the whole fan base.
Every organization and large group of people period has the bottom feeders always trying to stir sh** up.
