LSU freshman defensive lineman Davin Cotton has re-entered his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to AL.com reporter Matt Zenitz.

Cotton originally entered the portal back on February 11 and removed his name just two days later on February 13. Zenitz is now reporting that Cotton is back in the portal.

Cotton appeared in two games during the 2018 season, recording one tackle vs. Southeastern LA and two tackles vs. Rice.

The Shreveport, La native was four-star prospect out of Evangel Christian Academy and was rated the No. 9 player for the state of Louisiana for the class of 2018.

What is really going on with DT David Cotton? I don't know if he looked at the depth chart and figured he wouldn't be able to start are even crack the top 3. I don't know if he had a conversation with Coach O about what would benefit both himself and LSU, it would benefit Cotton if he transferred for a better chance to start because he is what 6'1" 6'2" under 270 lbs he's definitely not big enough to play NG or even DE in a 3-4 SEC defense. And the benefits for LSU if he transferred is the Tigers have to get down to 85 scholarships players and they had 92 or 93 players before Cotton and DT Dominic Livingston entered the portal that means they have to make few more decisions on a few players. But I really hate losing talented players and I know DC Dave Aranda could've found a way to utilize Cotton talents, I also read somewhere that just because he entered the portal doesn't mean he couldn't return to LSU roster. Either way it goes I just wish him the best of luck where ever he lands because we're going to be find whether he stay or leave.

Someone has been pulling his string. Guess we could nickname him "yo-yo" if he stays. Best of luck to the young man, hope he figures it out, soon.

No big deal. One kid transfers out one kid transfers in. Revolving door of the new NCAA free agency.

Yeah that’s how it works Huey

Unless there's some off field stuff. Just shows a lack of confidence in himself and an unwillingness to work hard to make himself better. Would he be a better player or have the opportunity to get a significantly better education somewheres else? Likely not . I see this as a purely emotional response. Not a rational one.

This is about THIS season for Orgeron. He won’t last until 2020 thankfully.

Orgeron is going to be at LSU for a while. Nitwits like you could go and not be missed. Would you please consider going to another fanbase so you can brighten their day? Bama is loaded with bandwagon fans. You would fit right in.

I don't know how anyone could downvote this. In today's SJW world many of these pussys get their feelings hurt by someone just stating the truth. Laughable.

Nothing is given. Everything is earned. Participation trophy era has made the collective soft. On the flip side, look no further than Brossette to see how hard work and perseverance pays off

Even better example... Matt Flynn. FIVE YEARS at LSU, ONE YEAR as a starter, National Champion. 7-year NFL career. Filthy rich, married to former Golden Girl/Ms Louisiana.
