Matt Mauck had a way better season than Matt Flynn for starters. He also had a turnover problem like Flynn, but Mauck's 28 TD passes were the most by a LSU QB in a single season, by a big margin, at that time. He is still tied for 3rd with Russell.

I wouldn't say that. Burrow's season could have easily been seen as an outlier if not for Jayden Daniels. Burrow will get the accolades for having the GOAT season at LSU, but Daniels is the one ushering in the "QB school" moniker. Nussmeier will cement it, and Underwood will make the title synonymous with LSU.
