Lane Kiffin Provides Injury Updates On Whit Weeks, Trey’Dez Green, And Charles Ross II

LSU’s 35-6 win over Texas A&M came with more injury news.

Speaking to reporters Sunday, head coach Lane Kiffin revealed that linebacker Charles Ross II suffered a torn ACL during Saturday’s game and is out for the season. Ross joins Dashawn Spears and Phillip Wright III among the Tigers who will miss the remainder of the year.

Kiffin also provided updates on linebacker Whit Weeks and tight end Trey’Dez Green, who are both expected to miss multiple weeks. Weeks suffered a leg fracture against Texas A&M, while Green injured his knee in last week’s game at Ole Miss.

Kiffin said they expect to get Green back later this season and they should know more Monday about whether Weeks can return this year.

LSU’s season-ending injury list now includes safety Dashawn Spears, linebacker Charles Ross II, and wide receiver Phillip Wright III.

Edge rusher Gabriel Reliford and cornerback Aidan Anding suffered season ending injuries in spring practice.

I agree with you. If a coach expects a "next man up" player to be ready, he needs to give him some experience before being thrown into the fire. Also, it would protect first line players getting injured but I don't want ANY players to get injured.

Exactly. ND, Clemson, Ohio State play cupcake seasons and arrive at CFP really healthy. Then, the CFP makes the SEC teams play one another based upon a poll. Well, we all know how easy polls are manipulated.

Don’t forget about Miami’s schedule. Go check it out. It’s probably the easiest schedule in all of college football. Them and ND. I really can’t see how this is fair that they get to have those schedules while teams in the SEC they’re getting punished every week.

The crazy part is every player listed here has elite physical skills for the position they play. All have legit chances to be draft picks. These aren't just 3rd string/depth type of players. Anding was expected to be CB3, Reliford was supposed to be in rotation, almost a 1b to Jones. Spears was starting and had success, Whit was a top player on IMO, the best defense in the country, Green was the best receiving weapon in the first 3 games and Wright was coming on to be a deep threat option.
