LSU QUARTERBACK MYLES BRENNAN STEPS AWAY FROM FOOTBALL

BATON ROUGE – LSU quarterback Myles Brennan has decided to end his college football career, he announced on Monday.

“We are grateful to Myles for everything he has done for LSU Football.,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said. “Myles is a great leader who has made a tremendous impact on this program, and he has earned the respect of everyone here through his commitment and love for LSU.

“Myles has always embodied the traits required to fulfill our mission to graduate champions, and we have full confidence those traits will help him succeed at every step in his journey as he moves forward.”

Brennan, who was entering his sixth year with the Tigers, finishes his LSU career having played in 20 games with three starts. He started the first three games of the 2020 season before an injury against Missouri sidelined him for the remainder of the year.

Brennan then suffered a season-ending arm injury just days before LSU reported for training camp a year ago. He caps his career having thrown for 1,712 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Brennan graduated from LSU in May of 2021 with a degree in sports administration.

Damn, was a big MB fan, what a great, loyal, dedicated Tiger. Thought he had huge talent and potential and chips just didn't fall right. This does make me very optimistic of what the staff sees in JD and GN, if they were beating MB out that convincingly. Looking forward to seeing this team play!

I said last week that Myles is pretty content with his life and playing for LSU was more about for fun than the NFL. Thought he would stay on and be at worst, a backup and great teacher and confidant on the sideline. Guy has the life starter pack already with a fiancé, graduation, and future in his family business if he wants.

I hate he’s leaving. I wish he would’ve gone ahead and transferred so he could play at least one season, but at the same time I respect him for sticking around and fighting for the spot he wanted.

I hope no one is classless enough to say anything bad about this young man. He stuck it out when NOBODY in college ever does anymore. I really was pulling for him to win the job to see him finally get rewarded for his loyalty but I wish him the best in everything he does in life. A true LSU Tiger through and through. Hats off to you Myles.
