LSU junior offensive lineman Maea Teuhema did not practice with the team during the first day of fall camp on Monday as he is dealing with some academic issues, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.

"We will know more about him in the next couple of days," Orgeron said. "We’re unsure of his status."

With Teuhema sidelined, Orgeron said that both Lloyd Cushenberry and Donavaughn Campbell are competing at right guard to fill in for Teuhema as his academic issues get sorted out.

Coach O also unveiled the Tigers current depth chart along the offensive line, which looks like this:

Left Tackle: KJ Malone, Austin Deculus, Saahdiq Charles
Left Guard: Garrett Brumfield, Ed Ingram
Center: Will Clapp
Right Guard: Lloyd Cushenberry, Donavaughn Campbell
Right Tackle: Toby Weathersby, Jakori Savage

We need to stay away from the Samoans

It seems like every daily story I read on here is negative. Grade problems, recruits quoting footbsll or going elsewhere. I hope this isn't a picture of what the future will bring.

I really think O has to upgrade the Oline coaching staff. Grimes is not getting it done. Not on or off the field. We replaced the OC, DC, RB coach, WR coach. It's time to go get an upgrade at Oline coach. I recall VT not having much of an Oline when he was there as well.

Not sure how some of thee athletes have academic issues when Lsu has more than an adequate academic success center tailored to the athletes. I remember being a tutor there

Some ridiculous comments by some ignorant people. To Walking The Earth: A player has to be working towards a degree.... To FakesGribbensMowers: you can't have GA's do class work for the players and you don't have proof that Alabama does that. Breaking the rules is not an option. See Ole Miss. the idiots run wild.

Fortunately, communications and theatre are both majors that LSU offers so problem solved. The coaches and players also know the classes and professors that are program friendly so they have no excuses.

Just take some communications and theater classes and call it a day, if you're really not the academic sort. Don't overthink this.

Well looks like we need to start recruiting some OLman. How about sticking with 4.0 gpa's. I'm soooo sick of hearing about classroom casualties. My god all you have to do is go to class and study a little. We cut the frickn practice times down so study.

The reason Grimes is responsible is the lack of recruiting numbers. Why on Earth did he feel we needed to go to West Virginia to take a kid who was headed to friggin' Marshall? I mean look at thelack of quality depth and the attrition. Who else is to blame?

Another failed OL causality. FML. Also Jeff Grimes is fricking terrible.

LSU had the top rated offensive line in the entire country last season. Yet, according to you, "Jeff Grimes is fricking terrible." Give me a break!

grimes needs to be shown the door. His hitting % on recruits that wind up playing is simply way too low.

Starting to agree. Felt that should have been after last year though. New coaches with a new game plan and all.

How is Maea's academic issues Grimes fault?

Grimes needs to be shown the door? What are you crazy? LSU had the number one rated offensive line in the entire country last year.

Why can't we just be like Bama and have these GAs do their work for them? Jesus Christ, following rules simply doesn't pay
