WATCH: Will Wade Jokes About Lane Kiffin, NIL In Second Stint As LSU Head Coach

Will Wade had a few jokes ready while speaking to the Baton Rouge Rotary Club on Wednesday.

Now back for his second stint as LSU’s head basketball coach, Wade joked about his previous departure before pointing out how much has changed since his first run in Baton Rouge.

“Appreciate the introduction. Left out the part where I got fired, so that was good,” Wade said.

He then joked that he’s no longer the most controversial coach on campus.

“A lot’s changed since the first time I was here. There are two massive changes. First off, the first big change is I’m no longer the most controversial coach on campus. I’ve been happy to kind of pass that along.”

Wade also had a one-liner about NIL.

“We’re just a little ahead of our time with NIL. So everybody says name, image, and likeness. I say, ‘Now it’s legal.’”
