LSU Safety Major Burns Announces He Will Return For His Senior Season

I hope he can learn to stop flexing and trash talking to opponents after they just gained 15+ yards. Focus on the skillset not the showboating.

Spent more time trash talking than actually making plays.

I hope he takes as big of a jump as Jayden Daniels did by playing one more year.

Wtf is wrong with you fools? Seriously, y’all suck. The dude plays his heart out and is a great athlete. It was an unfortunate season defensively, but we should all be ecstatic that this young man wants to come back for his last year with a new DC.

I’m not forgetting that pick 6 to seal the win against a pretty good Mizzou team, so I won’t shite on the kid. But honestly, I think his options were extremely limited.

We're too thin in the defensive backfield to be dismissive about returning experience. With new (and presumably better) coaching, Burns could be much improved. Getting starters to return is the first step in establishing some stability and confidence in that room.

Some people have no idea how poorly coached the D was. It was at all levels. With the right coaching a player who works as hard as Burns can go from an average player to very good in an off season.

With good coaching, all of our guys can improve tremendously. Lego.

Hopefully new DB coach can get something out of him. Has been a major disappointment even before this past year.

I think Burns could live up to his early hype next year. Year more mature, last year as a Tiger and will get some great coaching.

Where else was he going to go? Certainly not to the NFL draft.

There better be major improvement. Hopefully a new coaching staff teaches these guys how to tackle and cover someone. Glad we will have som senior leadership coming back though.

Bulk him up put him at LB he is trash in the secondary

After much rejection from NFL scouts, I will be returning to LSU this year.

I can’t say I seen every single play of the season, but close to it & Burns seems to play the allies pretty well. Can’t speak for his coverage abilities. But he shows signs of being a solid strong safety and play close to the line of scrimmage and maybe some safety blitzes in the right packages and with some legit coaching. I think Burns has potential to be a solid leader on defense next year, glad he stayed!
