Multiple sources are reporting that LSU is set to hire Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly, with an announcement coming as soon as Tuesday.

The news was first reported by Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports and confirmed by Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated.

The 60-year old coach from Everett, Massachusetts is in his 12th season at Notre Dame with an overall record of 113-40. The 6th-ranked Irish are currently 11-1 this season and still in the College Football Playoff hunt.

Spew first, cheer for him later. I’ll say this. If Coach O could win a natty here, BK should be able to do the same. Then we can fire him when he turns 65

Excellent choice. Anyone who thinks this happened in one day is totally disconnected from reality. Woodward did his due diligence with this hire and has hit another home run. LSU will be a much more disciplined team than what we have had and he is the right coach at the right time to bring LSU to dominance each and every year.

I'll say this for Kelly, he fits the old, short, white guy we're trying to beat!

Oh here we go. I see your problem now. You have to throw the race card. Man, your type never ceases to try to turn anything into a racial situation. I guess Florida, USC, & TCU are racists too then as all have hired White Coaches. Go ahead call them racists too. Damn.

I know many are disappointed because their number one choice didn’t get hired. But let this marinate a few days. This is a good hire. Les and O won championships here. BK will be successful here. Let’s Geaux!

I’m not mad either. Not my first choice. But he’s solid. Also has young coordinators. Understands youth.

I’ll take that. He’s proven, now let’s just hope players run to play for him. Maybe get one of the recruits that de-committed from OU.

Love his old school class and he can coach. Hell, the winningest coach in ND history only got 2.7 million a year. Triple it Scott

I prefer winning % and championships over total wins. Anyone who is good but not great can stick around and get the most wins. Rockne, Holtz and Parseghian all have him beat in winning % and championships.

Has an excellent resume. I did not see this one coming and applaud him for wanting to coach in the SEC.

He can beat Alabama with LSU talent and not embarrass the university like O did after the 2019 Bama game
