In case you missed it earlier this week, LSU fullback John David Moore wrote a very touching letter to his former coach Les Miles on Facebook that was shared by more than 2,800 people.
quote:

Couldn't sleep til I put this in writing:

How do you describe a man who is indescribable? Legendary. Hilarious. Passionate. Caring. Coach.

I could fill trophy cases with my memories of Coach Miles if his weren’t already full of trophies. I grew up on Les Miles. I grew to love Les Miles. I grew as a player and a man under Les Miles.

Only in my wildest dreams did I think I would get to be on the LSU football team led by Coach Les Miles … and then my wildest dream came true. Only in my wildest dreams did I think I would see the field as an LSU Tiger … and then Coach Miles put me in. Only in my wildest dreams did I think I would earn a scholarship at LSU … and then I cried in Coach Miles’ office as he awarded me a scholarship. Only in my wildest dreams did I think I would be a starter at LSU … and here we are today.

Now I truly believe that all those dreams came true as a part of God’s plan for my life, but He sure chose to use Coach Miles to fulfill a lot of them, and for that I am humbled and thankful. My kids will someday be sick of my Coach Miles stories, but that won’t stop me from remembering the man who means so much to me. A man who prayed with our team after every practice and game. A man who cared enough to make us do hard things better. A man who called me “bright as a whip,” whatever that means. A man whose competitive fire now burns in the heart of everyone he has ever coached.

“This day, men …” is how he began every pregame speech. “Take the field!” is what he would exclaim every time we ran out to stretch. “Lord we come to you with prayers answered and hard work vindicated” is what he would pray after every victory. The consistency of Les Miles is unparalleled. You always know what you’re going to get … his very best!

On behalf of myself, our team, Louisiana, and every little boy who has ever dreamed of becoming an LSU Tiger, thank you Coach Miles!

Their always has to be at least one arse hole in every group right! You can be glad that LSU is changing direction with a new coach and still be man enough to give CLM his due. He did amazing things at LSU that no other coach has EVER accomplished and true LSU fans appreciate it. Trying not to be a dickhead if u can chief...

Very cool. Whatever you might think about The Hat as a coach, he's a pretty awesome human being.

I met Coach Miles once. I was beyond star- struck! He went out of his way and walked over to my family's dinner table to offer his condolences. We had just attended my grandmother's funeral. He shook hands, gave my son a team poster and was wisked away by his State Police detail. I like to think my grandmother's spirit compelled CLM to walk over. The guy will always be First Class in my book.

Miles will always be an LSU legend. His time had come and gone though. It is a new era now and LSU must look forward and not backward. Exciting times are coming for LSU Football. Look to the future.

Nice job JD, and it comes from the heart...CLM was really great for LSU, but as the saying goes, all good things come to an end...

I'm not going to bash the guy because he's already been fired but he needed to go. I understand the players loved him but the guy was just not a good football coach.
