Four days after announcing his plans to transfer out of the LSU Football program, defensive back Sage Ryan practiced with the Tigers on Tuesday as they prepare for their Bowl Game against Wisconsin.

There were rumblings over the weekend that Ryan was considering staying at LSU and this latest development likely means he is coming back.

The redshirt sophomore from Lafayette, La., registered 35 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, and three pass breakups this season.

He was recruited as a safety out of high school but has played all over the secondary for LSU, eventually settling into the cornerback position at the back end of this season.

I assume he had a talk with Kelly and was told that if he returned he would be moved back to safety. He played corner out of necessity this year but he had never played cornerback in his life before this season.

Sage looked better at corner than at the nickel. I liked what I saw out of him late in the season.

This makes me happy, he has talent it’s just not clicking.

Losing Wiggins really is a big blow potential is there

Well we already know the dead man walking D Coordinator positioned players improperly, so maybe he talked to BK and got some good news on who is coming in to utilize him best.
It’s in no one’s best interest starting over when you are already with a title contender.

If he doesn’t hit at corner what makes anyone believe he will as a safety.

If you are focused on too many different things, you can't let go enough to lay the wood.

We’re in the offseason phase where we run it back and somehow people will find optimism in that despite being the worst lsu defense in decades

"run it back". One of the most over-used, unimaginative phrases.

Wasn’t really trying to be creative and you’re also ignoring the point of my post. I’m sure you’ll find a positive spin in us keeping House if it’s announced

We can take all the help we can get. Glad he's staying.

It's dumb for him to transfer out. He's a legit contender to start every game next year if he can win the spot.

Maybe he feels a legit DB coach could help him turn the corner

if we can get some pieces filled on the outside edges to allow him to go back to his normal position, he can hopefully contribute in a better scheme. wont hurt having experience sticking around.
