Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports
Former LSU head coach has made his pick for the LSU-Auburn game and it's an obvious one...

Miles, who will be in Tiger Stadium for Saturday's game, told his daughter Smacker that he is picking LSU to win during a recent episode of the "Les Is More" podcast.
quote:

Smacker Miles: "Auburn - LSU?"

Les Miles: "I'm buying the Tigers at home-"

Smacker: "There's two Tigers."

Les: "Huh?"

Smacker: "Two Tigers in that game."

Les: "Yeah, but I'm not buying those other Tigers. Those other Tigers don't count. I'm taking the real Tigers. I'm talking about the Purple and Gold. The helmets that are recognized across the country as the Tigers- LSU Tigers.

Love that man. Gonna hate when he gets another coaching gig and stops repping the Tigers

He loves LSU. Still lives in Baton Rouge. I still think AD would be a great gig for him at LSU. Skip did it, and had great success!

How great would it be to have Les get a position with LSU that would allow him to fire Joe-Blow Alleva!

Coaches that let the fan base run the team are not there long fans just think they are coaches ,they make losers out their team , remember when the fan base finally got their hero off the bench and he flopped ,Coach Miles for ever !

I do too. I hope he stays in town a while. I'd like to meet him one day just to shake his hand and thank him for all the good memories he gave us. History would have been much different if Oklahoma State would have just taken care of business back in 2011, but oh well...wasn't meant to be, I guess.

From the way Kathy talked in an interview Baton Rouge is home and they feel loved here. Sounded like they had no plans on leaving anytime soon.

Les Miles was always a great coach and guy but his downfall was that he was just too loyal. It's ok to be loyal but you have to know when to cut ties and recognize that your job can't be tied to your loyalty for people. You have to always be loyal to the university/program first. That's who pays you and that's who your trying to bring a national championship. If he would have gotten rid of Cam, and hired an OC who was a great young QB teacher, and implemented a style that made it easier for young QBs then he would likely still be here. If he was willing to change up his tendencies after every game, even in his previous offense he would likely be here. Some small changes and he would have won more games, and would still be here. We love you Les but just don't understand some of the calls that were made over the years. Overall though it was a great time Les! Go Tigers!

So if we hire him as AD, can we just use the buyout money to be his salary? Technically we don’t have to pay the money he makes from any new job we gets, so I say we just roll it over into his AD salary.

Exactly! Or the Plainsmen. Or whatever in the hell they are! Just how many nicknames do you get in football. Should be a limit.

His only 2 downfalls if you can somehow call them that is he was too loyal to bad coaches who were friends and he really believe his brand of football would live forever against every opponent.

Coach Miles is all class. Never once did he throw a player or coach under the bus. Coach O managed to do it in his first year as permanent HC. That really disappointed me. Didn't think O was like that.

Oh, and Smacker HATES O. Ripped into him about the Kickers. Les had to take up for former assistant
