Former LSU star and current Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson still thinks his former college coach Les Miles is the "best man for the job", according to The Advocate:
quote:

“It’s always tough to be head coach at a supreme institution like LSU,” Peterson said in a phone interview Thursday. “They always expect excellence. Coach Miles has done that in the past, won a national championship and conference championships. That’s what they (fans) are used to seeing.

“When you don’t see that, people think it’s time for a change. But I think coach Miles is the best man for the job. He continues to bring in great talent year in and year out.”

“Coach Miles,” he said, “always seems to prevail.”

Gotta laugh at bama fans on miles side. Of course they are. Miles is an average coach at best and Lsu poses the only real threat in the sec west. Saban proved the right guy can win big at Lsu with the facilities, fertile recruiting, etc. combine that with a competent coach and you dominate instead of being the very definition of mediocre.

I got love for Pat, I'll always be a fan. But he's wrong on this one.

Coach Miles tenure is done. It's time for a change.

Pat should know better than anybody. That 2010 team is right up there with 06 in terms of massive underachievements.

We're not just losing to Alabama (which everyone not named Ole Miss is). He's paid millions not to lose to Wisconsin, Arkansas(2x), Ole Miss, etc. He's losing to programs he has no business losing to. LSU football is not the same as it was from 2009-2012.

PP7 is a company man and loves LSU. This is hat I would expect from him.

The entire team lobbied for Mike Archer to get the HC job after Arnsparger left. LSU could've had Spurrier or Shanahan back then. Could care less what current or ex-players want....................

I agree. #KeepLesMiles Honestly though, outside of Saban at LSU, who's been better? Grass is always greener.

"outside of Saban at LSU, who's been better" Who's had this much talent at LSU to work with and continuously under performed?

We honestly don't know "who's been better" because we've let Les hold his excellent recruiting classes over our heads as leverage for years now - too scared to lose LF7 or any other prized recruit if we fired him. We've never given anyone a chance. In all honesty, Les was just an alright coach at OK State before we took a gamble on him. It's not like he was at Saban's level at that time he was hired. We don't NEED immediate gratification and success as much as we need an exciting, new, fresh direction - as in forward instead of backward.

Outside of Saban and Lies who else have we shelled out this kinda money for? We are paying top 10 salary for top 25 play.

100% disagree. Of course he's going to support him. I don't fault him for that, but I bet he'd be singing a different tune if he were the AD.

Another WASTED talent at LSU by Les Miles!

No, he isn't. Understand his loyalty, but Miles isn't the same coach he was when Pat was there.

Really? Not the same coach? That's what people are bitching about, that he doesn't change!!
