Many folks in the media and in college athletics have been weighing in this week on the different contingency options that could happen in order to play college football next season.

The latest to chime in is former Kansas State President Jon Wefald who says we will need a COVID-19 vaccine in place by July in order to play the season:

When do u say everything will be cleared. Alot of people are not staying in as they are told, they still having parties and lots get togethers. Seems like some good bait is set and keeps growing. Hope each business makes it mandatory as some for of indication that their employees have gotten the vaccine that is needed once there is one and same for schools

Why do we care what a "former" anything says about this situation?

Because he is spouting the agenda which the Left has chosen. They want to do as much damage to the economy and hope it gives them a shot at President Trump. This response to this so called Pandemic is a hackneyed approach to the problem. The numbers of fatalities is very low compared to other viral infections such as the flu in this current flu season. Anyone with a rudimentary math capability should understand that the death rate quoted for this infection is a farce. The Death Toll is a known number. The number of people infected is unknown and there are far more people who have had this virus but never reported it or were tested. Therefore you are calculating a death rate using the true number of dead vs. an unknown number that is far larger than the number you are calculating against. Knowing this, why are these numbers being used when they know it alarms the public unless the intent IS TO ALARM THE PUBLIC? It is insanity.

I think he’s also assuming it won’t mutate and die out in the summer.

We won't see a vaccine for at least another year.

And by then it will have mutated into an entirely different virus.

When did the Corona virus start affecting young and in shape people? They rarely even show signs or synthoms. It's almost as if there is an agenda behind this virus.

Yes we need more alarmists making these decisions. In all fairness these idiots need to shut the frick up. This situation has already been overreacted to beyond belief.

This is ridiculous. By that logic, we’re under quarantine until next summer

it sucks, but he's right if this virus follows like other coronaviruses in the same family, it will knock down in the summer and ramp back up in the fall
user avatar
Stingy49 months
How has other corona viruses followed in the same family? Please explain how covid has been around for many years but now there is suddenly a test to attribute so many deaths to it, genius. Deaths in the past that have simply been attributed to heart disease, respiratory failure, diabetes etc, are now suddenly being tested and attributed to a virus that has been around for many years.

@stingy It’s been around for years...in bats.

The Big 12 won't be missed during football season.

The NFL has all but said the same. Unless there's a quick test there won't be football. Until there's a vaccine they will only play in empty stadiums. I'm just hoping the f'ing McCaskeys give STHs the option to get our money back when the decision is finalized. They've gotta pay all their little bastard spawn infecting that organization so I'll be surprised if they don't hold it and collect the interest.
