Missouri's Eli Drinkwitz revealed last week that former LSU coach Ed Orgeron snubbed him of a handshake during pregame of the 2020 matchup in Columbia.

Drinkwitz recently discussed the situation on the "25 Whistles with Bobby Bones" podcast. Per The Telegraph:

Bones then asked Drinkwitz about the pre-game talk between coaches. Bones asked, "Do you have to go talk to the other head coach before the game?"

"Apparently you don't have to," Drinkwitz said. "(LSU head coach) Ed Orgeron didn't come shake my hand before the first time we played them. And that's was really the first time and only time I've ever had that happen. So I guess you don't have to."

Missouri faced LSU during Drinkwitz's first season as the Mizzou head coach on Oct. 10, 2020. Missouri beat LSU 45-41. It marked Drinkwitz's first win as the Mizzou football head coach.

This guy is complaining about O not shaking his hand in October if 2020?
I’m surprised he wanted and expected a handshake at that time.

When the covid scare was running rampant I quit shaking hands too. Caused too many others to freak out when I put my hand out.

Back when Ed was on top of the world and fresh off a NC. He thought he was too good to shake a nerdy coach’s hand, or maybe he was scared of Covid. Either way, it should have been a warning sign of his downfall.

I was thinking the early signs of his downfall were when we kept losing to bad teams and he had a losing record his last 2 years. But maybe you're right, not shaking a coaches hand is more telling of a declining program than wins and losses.
