Fire your entire compliance office staff and start over. They’re the ones holding LSU back in recruiting.

Read a comment here that the LSU Sports Network does not have an affiliate in Monroe. That's not true. KNBB 97.7 in Ruston blankets the Monroe area. The signal travels east of Rayville.

Let em hang low and swing heavy Coach O and drop em on Bama's chin!

Some Kids just want to buck the norm and do something different out of the state(see the Manning Brothers and countless others). I think LSU winning some games with BAMA and getting back on the big stage will help not only North Louisiana recruits but all recruits.

The Manning Brothers would have been disinherited for going to LSU.

North Louisiana folks pull for whoever is winning - Saints or Cowboys - LSU or Bama - I see so much Bama gear in North LA - it is insane. North Louisiana has an identity crisis. TCU is recruiting HARD in NLA.

What a crock of shite. You just made all that up. I hardly ever see bama gear and I can count the Cowboys fans I know on one hand. "So much Bama gear it's the insane". Lmao

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. If you want to see why LSU has a problem sometimes in North Louisiana, look at this message board. Every statement about North Louisiana is either "Monroe/Shreveport/North Louisiana Sucks!" or "Why don't kids in North Louisiana want to play for LSU?" Make your mind up, either we are part of the state or we are not.

North LA is really a different state. Different people, different customs, different cultures, different accents, etc. Heck, we all even call each other by different state names: North LA and South LA.

I'm so pleased the author clarified with "When It Comes To Recruiting" in the headline. I was initially concerned that the Athletic Dept. was thinking of annexing North Louisiana.

Would it be helpful to play La Tech or ULM in Shreveport every other year? I know LSU doesn’t like playing Louisiana schools but I’m looking for an answer to a real problem.

Dude, la tech and ulm dont recruit the same caliber of athlete as LSU. Are you kidding? What's your point, and what good would it do LSU recruiting north la to beat the shite out of the north la schools? We dont get into recruiting battles with them for prospects. It serves zero purpose. We need to beat alabama and keep beating the sec west teams alltogether, that's what will help us in north la. Orgeron has already received several commits from north la prospects this cycle...it will only continue to improve. We're coming, and we arent backing down! Geaux Tigers!

As far as playing a game in shreveport...that wouldn't help to reel in north la recruits either. We have them in for visits and they come watch home games in death valley, where they will potentially be playing if they sign with LSU. It's not playing a game in shreveport thag will help, it's LSU beating alabama, period. Saban pulls players from up north by simply telling kids "come to bama, we have beaten LSU 7 times in a row, which side do you want to be on?" That's where the true problem lies. We need to just keep winning. That will solve our problems. Orgeron had done well trying to get us solidified in north la again. Once we get this entire state on board with LSU football, it will be scary, and Saban knows this, which is why he tries his best to lure kids to bama from here. Louisiana is a pure hotbed for talent, and once we unify under LSU, the sky is the fricking limit for this program. LSU will be really fricking scary WHEN that happens, and it will.

I know that LSU dorsn’t Recruit the same kids as ULM or Tech. I’m talking about creating some buzz. Baton Rouge is far away for most North Louisianans so a game in Shreveport is at least worth a try. I don’t have an answer her that is why I posed a question. Bama recruits nationally but the recruit NELA for a reason. We should do the same.

Outbidding bama won't be tough, but facing sanctions once bama reports us to their mother will set us back 10 years. bama's hummers, girlfriends and grades will continue to be overlooked until we step up our game.

Well send them a map of North Louisiana, because West Monroe is located north. Reason.......WM QB committed to Bama as a SWR. Don't really know what happened during the Miles era, but the Whitworth's, Sanders, Mingo's were special players for LSU. Pretty sure the stat is that every Natty that LSU has played in the past 15 years they have had a player(s) from West Monroe on their roster. LSU cant continue to have the Cam Robinson's go to Bama.

What happened was LES MILES! He got lazy and put that fat slob of oline coach in charge of North Louisiana. Also I have been screaming on here to fire Jeff Grimes and hire former LSU olineman and current Arizona Oline coach, Rob Sale. He would come to LSU tomorrow and has experience at ULM, McNeese St, Georgia and now Arizona. He also has connection all over the state and would close down the Monroe area when it comes to recruiting!

I'm not big on O as the head coach, as I've said many times. However, I am kind of excited to see what he can do recruiting wise. If we can somehow get to that 10 win season, I think it will do wonders for recruiting. I think most coaches will play his ole miss record against him, but at least if we finish off this season right, he can have more to show the recruits. He'll be going against the likes of programs that are not only traditional power houses, but have very successful coaches as well. I know this class may not be ranked as high right now, but he's always had an eye for talent, which is encouraging. If we can keep this coaching staff together, things will only get better. As someone who wishes we would have made a different HC hire, I could see us having a good season next year with this same staff. It's when coaches start to leave that has me worried.

Good of you to recognize the process and give the benefit of the doubt to Coach O and his staff. I really believe the difference between us and Alabama is North Louisiana recruiting. LB’ers, in particular. If O can lock down the players up there, things should change positively for us. As for the Ole Miss thing, that’s over. O has now won 8 conference games with a chance for 10 by seasons end. The talent at LSU is vastly superior to that of Ole Miss. So that’s a non issue. I like some of the other suggestions, like having a game in Shreveport and getting on radio and television to increase interest in the Northern area. Keep Saban in Alabama and keep this coaching staff together, and you will see the change. It’s coming!

Need to start playing a home game in Shreveport every year. I've been saying this for a long time.

The spring game definitely needs to be in Shreveport. Stadium would be packed and it would actually mean something for once.

Not sure if you can compete with ULM. Careful going to war with them on their own turf.

I assume this is a joke. LSU doesn't recruit the same players as ULM. The real problem is that top Monroe players are more interested in playing for Alabama than LSU

It is 100% on Les Miles! He ignored the area for too long and now look at it.

97.7 out of Ruston carries LSU Football. You can hear it from Minden to Rayville. All the other sports (Men's BB and Baseball) are on a crappy AM Station you can't hear outside of Ruston, Basically all they want is football and crap on the other sports they have to carry.

There has always been LSU football on the radio in the Monroe/Ruston area.

It's really crazy to me that the Monroe/West Monroe area doesn't have a radio station that carries LSU sports.. This seems to be a small indicator of how much support LSU has up there right now.
