After 32 picks and three running backs selected, LSU running back Derrius Guice fell out of the first round of the NFL Draft and will look to have his name called early on Friday when the second round begins.

Running backs to be drafted in the first round were Penn State's Saquon Barkley (No. 2 overall to the New York Giants), San Diego State's Rashaad Penny (No. 27 to the Seatle Seahawks) and Georgia's Sony Michel (No. 31 to the New England Patriots).

Round 2 of the NFL Draft starts Friday night at 6 p.m. CT.

The 2nd round is almost over. Guice has too much talent to be sitting this long. He is gonna play angry next year. Hope he goes to a team with a decent OL.

The NFL is a private employer (that relies in large part upon public taxpayer funds however) so they can ask whatever stupid fricking questions they want to ask draftees. I don't have a problem with that necessarily ... but I think some teams who need a great RB will regret not taking Guice. I do think he'll go in Round 2 today, which really is fine and he'll do well. What I DO have a problem with is the national media like Mike Mayock, citing Guice's "off-field issues." WHAT "off-field issues"??! Pure BS. You get the impression some NFL executive tool fed this BS info to Mayock (who I'm sure prides himself on being a "connected NFL insider") who then parroted it on national TV and basically smearing Guice.

If you’re wanting to play with the big boys, you have to act like one. He’s learning a valuable lesson. I see good things ahead for this young man.

What valuable lesson is the second best running back in the country learning today?

That he needs the NFL more than the NFL needs him. Not For Long.

Guice > Fournette

Guice did this to himself playing the victim in team interviews. Big red flag to any team that was looking at him. Shows he wouldn't hesitate to go public with anything that a team would do to even slightly make him unhappy.

I understand getting picked behind Saquon Barkley and maybe Sony Michel, but for Seattle to take Penny instead of Guice is baffling......

Maybe he should shave that pile of shite off of his head

Yeah, because weird haircuts keep all the good football players from being signed by a team.

Man - was really hoping Guise would go late 1st round. He's a success no matter where he goes!

He will go second round but i cant figure why arden key wanted to go to nfl draft instead of stay one more year. That was a dumb move, arden key may slide to 5th round. Why not stay one more year gwt your degree and perfect your craft since arden key was not all that good in his junior year. Hope he is happy with final result where ever he goes

If he gets drafted anywhere he is fulfilling his dream and getting a shot.

Guys...he isn’t great. Do y’all not remember the game against florid son 2016 when he had 2-3 shots on the half yard line and failed? He isn’t first or second round talent. Fournetter would eat his lunch all day long

Giants screwed the pooch. Could've gotten Guice in the second and used their first round pick on a QB.

This is true. But man you don't know how these boards are going to play out. Everything is 20/20 in hindsight.

He's going to be a steal for any team that drafts him at this point.

I never understand the expression "falls out of ____ round." All of the expectation was just that; expectation. None of it was factual in the first place. Where you get drafted is where you were meant to be get drafted

If he falls further than the 2nd round he is definitely being sent a message.

No such thing as falling down a draft board. It was a fictional prediction in the first place.

Downvote for ebbandflow. When you’re projected in the first round by a lot of analysts, and you’re invited to the draft Thursday night and don’t get drafted, yes, that constitutes falling down a draft board. Also with recent controversy around Guice, it still makes sense. Stop trying to force your terrible argument.

team aren't "sending a message." If teams don't pick him, it's because they don't see enough value in him at that particular spot in the draft. Teams don't send a message - they try to pick the best players (on the field and locker room) to help them win. Period.
