LSU senior defensive lineman Christian LaCouture spoke to the media on Monday and said that the fans that are calling for Ed Orgeron to be fired are disrespectful and that the blame shouldn't fall all on him, but also on the players.
quote:

I think it's disrespectful and it's absurd," LaCouture said.

"Coach O is a guy that has put everything into this football program. We didn't execute. He had a great gameplan for us this week. Blame it on us. Me being one of the leaders of the team... I didn't help prepare the team well enough."

"When people say stuff like that us, it really hurts us as a team. We feel bad for Coach O because he does not deserve that at all.

He's right. It is absurd calling for a coach to get fired 5 games into his first season regardless of what you think of the hire.

I'll trust the players on these matters.

Okay. Please stop with the fire Coach O crap. It’s only hurting recruiting. His buyout is $12 million this year, which he successfully negotiated. He doesn’t sound that dumb to me. Plus, another $8million to Les. That’s $20 million after only 5 games. It ain’t happening! If you must focus on firing someone, Alleva is your man. I don’t know his contact details, but he has been a terrible AD anywhere he’s been. We’ got several players returning this week from injury, and currently have the #6 ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2018! Let’s get behind this team and keep the recruits wanting to come to LSU. I know we all want the same thing! Remember: Saban lost to ULM and went 7-6 his first season at Alabama. Just saying.

Someone how LSU fans think they have more at stake than the players. They think getting wasted on Saturday is equivalent to the workouts and practices the players go through.

Lol. That's one of the best posts I've read in a while. Funny because it's true.

Well why doesn't the team go out and play for Coach O? Getting hammered in the trenches on both sides of the ball by the likes of Troy, Mississippi State, and Syracuse.

Everyone wants to shoulder the blame, but no one wants to take responsibility and appropriate the necessary change.

No matter what happens, rest assured that Alleve will be throwing others under the bus as the end of his reign nears.

I keep hearing he same thing over and over. We didn’t execute, we didn’t play like we should have, we made mistakes, etc. 5 games in, when is this going to get fixed? I don’t care how young the team is, there is no excuse to lose to Troy. There is no excuse for Troy to win in the trenches. Quit making excuses and do your jobs!!!!!

Yeah, I don't think we need player advice on coaching decisions. That's backfired on LSU twice now.

Lacouture made the mistake of believing the fans calling for O to be fired are either reasonable or intelligent. The same people who propped Les up for 4 miserable seasons are not giving CEO even one season.

It's hard for a kid who is in the middle of a coaching melt down to know what's really going on. Culture is to protect the team, coach is part of that. Nothing but a natural response from the kid, but it's misguided. Coach O, Alleva, and King need to be out. Now.

Leadership is not words. It is actions. Don’t say a damn thing. Prove the fans wrong. You Christian and Orgeron. I have faith in you trying hard. I have zero faith in the guy that you’re defending.

So the losses don't hurt enough to get mad, but calling out bad coaching does? CL's only made a handful of plays anyway. If he made more plays himself, maybe they wouldn't have to feel this way.

Just glad the Troy loss is bringing national coverage to Alleva and resurfacing his mismanagement at Duke, including poor hires--one leading to a scandal--and the handling of the Duke lacrosse case. Duke had to be shocked, let alone relieved after the hire.
