John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
College Football writer Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports revealed his SEC win total picks for the upcoming season and has high hopes for LSU.

Sallee has the Tigers going over 8.5 wins, losing just one regular-season game at Ole Miss.
quote:

LSU

Over/under 8.5 wins

Wins: at UCLA, McNeese State, Central Michigan, at Mississippi State, Auburn, at Kentucky, Florida, at Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe, Texas A&M

Losses: at Ole Miss

Analysis: Write it down in ink: LSU is back. The Tigers have one of the most talented offenses in the country, an experienced defense that is no longer coordinated by Bo Pelini and a healthy quarterback competition led by last year's opening day starter Myles Brennan. They have the potential to run the table but, since Ole Miss is so potent offensively, will miss out on the perfect regular season. With that said, over 8.5 wins is one of the best bets in the college football universe. Pick: Over 8.5 (+100)

This team believe they can win every game this year. With proper preparation, planning and execution, they will. But, believing and wanting is where winning starts.

Beating Bama? Yeah right. Losing to Ole Miss? WTF?

This used to be our routine back in the 80's, and then in the 90's when the program revived under Dinardo. We'd be able to go in and beat the top conference team, then have a letdown game a couple weeks later (and it usually WAS Ole Miss or Miss State).

Losing to OM after a big win is a bit of a tradition.

I’ll never forget LSU beating the #1 Florida 28-21 in 1997 @ TS & then LOST to a shitty Ole Miss team the very next week 36-21. Back then that was just LSU being LSU!! Today’s LSU Football is a completely different beast than it was back in the 90’s & God willing they’ll NEVER revert back to those days again!

His take is so awful I don’t even know where to start…he must not have gotten the memo that Gilbert, Chase, and Marshall are gone.

how many of those guys were there when we won in the swamp last year?

Chase and Marshall were gone for all and most of last year. Our young up and comers are going to dominate. Write it down

I think that same ‘Memo’ reminded him & everybody else about: Boutte, Kirkland, Palmer, Moore…….etc etc!!

Lots of pressure this season

This will be one of those seasons where there will be no clear dominance in the SEC outside of maybe Bama. Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, A&M, and LSU are all capable. Maybe 2007 like.

Not a bad prediction. I been saying watch out for Ole Miss this year, all they need is a bend but dont break type defense and they would be in the hunt for sure.

I was going to say, “Wait, Ole Miss?” But the game from last year occurred to me and maybe they aren’t as bad as I think.

So Picking LSU to go 11-1 in the regular season, win the SEC West & make the CFP is Hating a Team?
