Brian Kelly Says Jayden Daniels 'Sent A Message' To His Teammates This Week In Practice

Jayden Daniels' rib injury from the Missouri game hasn't slowed down the LSU quarterback in practice this week.

Brian Kelly spoke with reporters on Thursday and said Daniels was a full go all week despite being sore on Tuesday and Wednesday. Even with the soreness, Daniels told Kelly he did not want to change anything in practice and took all of the reps.

As a result, Kelly said that Daniels's effort this week sent a good message to the team. Per SDS:

“It’s one of those things where, as a coach, you want to be aware of how a QB is feeling and how you move into the week,” Kelly said. “We have captains meetings on Mondays, and he told me that day that he didn’t want anything to be changed up. We didn’t change anything up, and he took all the reps.”

“I think it sent a really good message to everybody about; you know, there’s gonna be some bumps and bruises and guys are going to be sore, but you have to get through it,” Kelly said.
