In case you missed it, there was a lot of discussion on Tuesday about a concerning tweet that LSU quarterback Brandon Harris sent to recent wide receiver transfer Tyron Johnson who is now at Oklahoma State.

Harris, who was benched last Saturday against Jacksonville State, sent a public tweet to Johnson that simply said: "u smart." The tweet was quickly deleted by Harris and he changed his public profile to private.

Also concerning is the college coaches that Harris recently followed on Twitter like Ohio State’s Urban Meyer, Houston’s Tom Herman, TCU head coach Gary Patterson and offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie.

LSU head coach Les Miles decided not the name a starting quarterback when he met with the media on Monday but insisted both Harris and Danny Etling would be needed going forward.

When will these kids understand that nothing...NOTHING...good can or will ever result from saying ANYTHING on social media. Grow up FFS.

Harris will likely get another chance. He has been given a bunch last year and this year. Just work and be ready because going 0 for 6 in the second half versus the cocks will not cut it. Lots of football to be played

He might want to follow some other coaches because he wouldn't be a starter at any of those schools

Isn't possible he is just saying he smart by allowing God to guide him?

I admit, the play-calling isn't exactly stellar, but it's decent considering the level of talent that Harris is surrounded by. He's on the bench because of his own doing. He imploded against Wisconsin and was on his way to another implosion against JSU. He was prepared to lose to two unranked teams in a row. What did he really expect to happen? It was time to pull the plug. It should have been plugged at halftime in the opener. Judging by the way Etling played, which wasn't a perfect game, we still would have won easily.

The QB with talent but who can't haul down a pass or throw it to the person wearing the same jersey as him might be vaguely interested in transferring after we benched him in place of a clearly more competent athlete? K.

Evidence of a continued lack of maturity. Harris has been provided with numerous opportunities to prove that he is "the man" at QB and has performed inconsistently (being nice). He can pour all he wants, but the reason he was benched was of his own making.

Even if it was not the sign of a leader, I would have given the benefit of him being young and emotional with his running to the locker room after the game but this is enough to conclusively and apologetically believe that he should ride the pine. There should be no QB competition to reward someone who displays this deficit of leadership at the QB position.

Why is it concerning that he is following other college coaches? If we won't play him, why would we be worried if he would transfer?

We don't care. However, it demonstrates Harris' lack of commitment to LSU and that he isn't prepared or thinking about competing for the job he lost. I am tired of giving Harris opportunities he doesn't deserve at the rest of the team's expense. They deserve a QB who can complete a damn pass. Harris' is selfish anf lazy.

How was Brandon Harris so good in HS but sucks so bad at LSU? I realize the college game is a lot faster and more difficult, but usually a five-star QB is at least a "three-star" caliber QB in college.

LSU is famous for not developing or even utilizing QB talent.

Gotta agree with Harris on this one.

What? You agree with the spoiled brat, who clearly feels entitled to the position, despite terrible performance? A very immature response by Harris, speaks volumes of his maturity, as does you agreeing with him.

Get another team chumpagne, no need for division on the team due to bh inability and lack of maturity. It appears he can't face the fact he is under performing, we can blame coaches to an extent, but ultimately the results on the field fall on the player.

Harris can agree with Tyron Johnson, but it benefits no one (especially this team), to make it public.
