New LSU offensive coordinator Matt Canda has finally met one of his future quarterbacks.

On the first day of the open recruiting period, Canada stopped by Bay Saint Louis, MS to meet four-star LSU pro-style quarterback commit Myles Brennan. This was the first meeting between the two since Canada was hired.

Brennan was committed to LSU during the entire 2016 Football season but briefly opened up his recruitment while Ed Orgeron searched for his new offensive coordinator. After Canada was hired, Brennan shut down his recruitment and reaffirmed his commitment to the Tigers.

The 6-3, 180-pound prospect is rated the No. 5 pro-style passer in the country for the class of 2017, according to ESPN and 247Sports.

Everybody just calm down. He knows the difference between "apart" and "a part" it's that I-phone auto correct does not know the difference. He explained that on twitter. Second, he is seventeen years old and won't be 18 for a few months. He weighed in at the Under Armour game at 6'4" and 188 lbs. He will play for LSU at 215 lbs. He is accepting of the red shirt process and will be ready when given the call to play.

Glad Coach C reached out to Brennan first. Sounds like it was a good meeting. Expect big things from Myles in the future!

Dammit, if we're going to do this, let's go ahead and do it the completely lazy way. CMC is how he should be referred to going forward.

He needs to add about 20 lbs of muscle to be ready

I fully expect Myles to redshirt and get his physical as well as academic well being at the level he and the coaching staff are comfortable with. I think he will do very well at LSU, but I also realize recruits are like a crap shoot. 50/50. Harris was super talented in HS, but has not translated well to college. Not entirely his fault. So many factors involved including coaching or lack of. The good news is we have 6-7 qb's that will compete for playing time and I have no doubt Coach C will put the best one behind center.

He was not put into a Clemson Shotgun/Spread/HUNH/RPO like Watson or mentored by an OC/QB guru like Chad Morris. When he did get a chance to run Shotgun/Spread/HUNH/RPO he and Dupre set FR records scoring on 13 of 17 possessions. He did not translate to an unimaginative, predictable, run-heavy scheme from 1975: Run, Fournette, Run. If Watson & Harris changed places, Clemson would have 2 NCs because Harris is faster, better runner, and has a better arm. You cannot succeed as a DTQB under center in a 2/TE/FB/RB scheme that ranks last in the FBS in Passing, Spread, WR utilization, TEMPO and Plays Per Game.

HS kids don't gain a lot of weight. I am going through that now with mine. 6'0 156 16yo. That shite is tough

That's about what Harris weighed too when he came in.

Like the above post says, closer to 6-4, 190. Still skinny, but closer to the ideal. One year of weight training, aging, and eating, and he'll be at 215-220.

Just hope he can convince Brennan to be a part of this class instead of apart of it. I got faith in ya, coach!

I see what you're saying. Nothing is making me dislike him, but let's wait until he plays a game to see if we need to praise him like everyone is doing. The only footage out there is high school footage, let's all take a breath. That being said, I am excited to see a true pro style qb being recruited, and committing.

Douche alert. We all hope he is great. If he isn't, then so be it. But don't slam the kid, he hasn't done anything wrong.
