Three-star cornerback Jeremiah Hughes from Las Vegas, Nevada announced his commitment to LSU on Thursday evening.

Hughes, a 6-1, 175-pound prospect from Bishop Gorman picked the Tigers over Arkansas, Utah, Washington, and Colorado.

The Tigers now have 12 verbal commitments for the class of 2023 with the addition of Hughes. He’s the third cornerback commit and fifth defensive back in the class.

Just wait until Kerry Cooks gets his hands on these defensive backs. There’s no one better than him to turn three star high schoolers into undrafted college players.

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that this guy is coaching at DBU.

Wondering if it’s possible that they are offering these out of state kids to possibly light a fire under La recruits. Message being we aren’t going to sit around until the end waiting for you. If you want to be at LSU better get on board before the train leaves the station.

Looks like all we can afford is 3 star & low level 4 star players. WE have lost our in state advantage due to NIL

What low level 4 star players?? You can't be a LSU person at all. Stop trolling.

I agree with the previous post about the BK Takeover tweet not being a good add. It went from cool to being cringy. It's becoming like DEEEEEJAAAAAAY KHAAAAAALAAD.

i remember when LSU got 5 star Db's . We seem to have 3 star Db's on Lockdown. Why go so far when La. has ton's of 3 star Db's?

Dude, it’s new staff. They don’t know the kids yet. That’s why all the players are out of state. Those are kids they were already recruiting. Give them a year to know the local coaches and players.

I agree, this seems pointless. Its been proven that for the most part across several positions that Louisiana has the most productive 3 star athletes. Why go to LV when you can find something comparable in Louisiana? My thought is that this new regime is comfortable with recruit certain positions to the ND standard. I can't think of any ND DBs who have had success in the NFL that were under BK.

There are like 4 uncommitted instate CBs who rank higher than him. BK takeover is overrated. He should be a little more humble this year in his approach. Signing all these 3 stars with meh offer lists.

12 of the top 17 players in the state of Nevada are from the same high school—Bishop Gorman.

I’m sure a football genius like you knows that LSU had the following number of 3 stars in prior classes:

1) 2016 #3 overall class, 9 of them
2) 2017 #7 overall class, 9 of them
3) 2018 #6 overall class, 13 of them.

A little research goes a long way to not showing you lack of college football understanding.

@CanebreakCajun: A football genius like you should have looked below the surface, where you would have discovered that 85% of all those 3 stars never played meaningful snaps in FBS. There's a reason they're 3 stars, because it's a longshot.
